My 6 month old male cat was throwing up the other day because of his food [whiskers]
So i started him on an organic food and he hasnt been sick since.
Sure this REALLY doesnt help you but your question just reminded me of what happened to my kitten. :)
Hope he/she gets better soon.
Call your vet =)

2 common problems cause cat vomiting (assuming he's otherwise normal and healthy): the first is fleas--cats lick themselves to clean their coat, and if there are fleas they end up ingesting them and they can make them vomit. So the first thing I'd do is treat him with Advantage or Revolution. You also need to treat your house, since the fleas will have migrated to anywhere hospitable and will return to pester your cat when the treatment wears off. We like Flea Busters powder for house treatment. The second thing that commonly causes vomiting is hairballs. Again, when grooming, cats, especially long-haired varieties, tend to swallow hair. You should treat that with a hairball lubrication product like Laxatone.
If there are any other signs of illness, you should immediately take him to the vet. You should also check for pet food recalls on your food, which has caused a lot of severe kidney disease in cats, and if your food falls into the recall list (check dates, etc. to know if yours was affected) you need to get your cat to the vet TODAY. That situation is life-threatening.

Some cats will gulp their food down like piggies without chewing and the food will sometimes come up again.
But with the recent poisoned pet food scare, I would take the cat to the vet.

Feed him boiled chicken (boneless and skinless) for a few days. Also taking him to the vet is advisable, because he may have swallowed something you don't know about. Perhaps something poisonous in the house, like fridge liquid (anti-freeze), some plant, some detergent, some insecticide, can you think of anything?

It's a good idea to take him to the vet very quickly.
Puppies and kittens dehydrate very quickly (within 24 hours), because they bring up food and liquid.

Don't ask us, go to a vet of some sort. Maybe that food he's been eating he just can't handle anymore. My cat does that, and sometimes it's because she ate grass. But my best asnwer would be to go see a vet. Hope everything works out! ;)
