find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You have a few choices: Keep up that diet and get on the treadmill or stairmaster and work it off or you will keep packing on the pounds, or change your eating habits and stop dieting.

Sorry about that, but don't you know, diets don't work? They only appear to work for a short term. You need to modify what you eat, and get more activity. I didn't say the exercise word, because it doesn't have to be nasty treadmill stuff, but even going shopping at the mall and hitting every store and not stopping at the food court would count, if you walk fast to get to each place.

The only thing that ever worked painlessly and effortlessly for me was sugarbusters. I just ate all the time, but what was allowed in the book, which was basically nothing white. No white flour, no white rice, no white potatoes, no white bread, no corn. Everything had to be 100 % whole grain and if you wanted to lose weight they recommended no more than 2 slices of bread a day. The only fruits they recommend are apples, oranges, pears and grapefruits. No bananas or pineapples, nothing that is almost pure sugar. This means no pizza too, because the crust is white flour, and they don't make them with whole wheat...no fast food buns, but you could do the chicken salads and stuff. No pretzels, potato chips, popcorn...corn was out. No soda either. I ate all the time, but I snacked on almonds, walnuts, apples, and other things they recommended. I didn't see any results for about 30 days, then all of a sudden the weight started falling off of me effortlessly. My waist got thinner and my clothes got loose. The weight just kept falling off as long as I kept following the sugar-busters. It is basically a healthy diet, and what we should be eating. It just cuts out all the junk food we have become so accustomed to.

Good luck. I know it isn't easy. The most difficult thing is going out with friends and sticking with what you know you need to do for yourself. It depends on what you want. You also need to be nice to yourself and talk nice about yourself and your body. Think positively about what is going to happen. If you think thin, you will stay more positively motivated. If you think you have a flabby stomach and thighs, then when you are tempted it is easier to give up and take the extra large piece of cake because what difference does it make anyway? Know you will win this battle. Know you will be thin. Order small portions. Eat slow. Stop when you are still hungry and wait for a while for the food to hit bottom. Change your habits and you will change your life. You can do this. You know you can!

You shouldn't be drinking any soda pop "even diet". Cut all of the sodium(salt) out of your diet. You get enough sodium through regular foods. Don't eat canned foods or frozen dinners. Eat small meals every 2-3 hours, this keeps your metabolism up so you can burn more calories. Walking after eating burns twice as many calories. Eat your bigger meals in the morning and only consume protein late in the day(no carbs at night). Do cardio exercise with some weight training. Drink lots of water! Don't eat alot of potatoes or pasta's. Take supplements such as CLA, Flax seed oi, and add fiber to your diet. Don't tell yourself your on a diet because once you decide to cheat a little you will be more than likely to want to give up. Consider it a healthy choice lifechange of eating. If and when you do decide to treat yourself to something do it in the morning and be sure to walk afterwards to help burn off the calories. Don't give up and give it a chance. You'll lose the weight slowly but surely and you will keep it off. I wish you the best of luck and you can do it "I promise!"

Don't be too worried about losing weight. You should do some sit-ups and exercises to firm up the muscles that are flabby. Diets cannot firm up your body!

Also, here's a little tip if you don't know... split up your meals. Eat 5-6 meals a day. Every meal, eat just a little bit to fill up your stomach. Once you feel hungry, eat again. But don't eat junk food! It's a sure gain fat food... :S

Hope this helps...

What is your diet like & have you been exercising as well? If your diet consists of consuming less than 1200 calories a day, then that would be your problem. Having less that that, your body goes into starvation mode & you store everything as fat. How much water are you drinking? Do you make sure to drink AT LEAST 8 to 10 glasses a day? If not, you could be retaining water.

Okay if you are sure it is not a gain from muscle then you must be unintentionally eating extra calories. It is easy to do. For example, ranch dressing can have up to 150 calories per tablespoon. My advice would be to keep a food journal and calculate your calories for a couple of weeks to see where these "hidden" calories are cropping up. I would also suggest measuring your stomach and thighs to be sure of fat loss or gain. Good luck. Try not to get discouraged.

Diets do not work without cardio and some strength training. Lean muscle helps increase your sitting metabolism. Good Luck!
