Christianity claims that if you believe in Jesus, you are saved and a grand place awiats you in the 'next life'.
Most of the developed countries which are predominantly Christian engage in quality entertainment, which in the eyes of their religion is sin... from strippers to adultery to pre-marital sex.
(I don't mind all of that but hey, I am not Christian)
Isn't Christianity a license to "sin"?

Let me quote Paul to you: Should we sin and let grace abound? God forbid!!

Now, I have two more quick points to make to you. First of all, Christianity began in the MIDDLE EAST, so please do not think that it is a "western" religion, OK?

Second, no one who is a real Christian engages in the type of explicit "entertainment" you are describing. Do you honestly think all Americans go to strip bars every night? Please.

When you become a Christian, yes you are saved from sin, HOWEVER there is this thing called REPENT (turn away) from your sins.
While we are not perfect, we are still supposed to turn away from the sinful things of the world. We should turn away from sin not only for the fear of hell, or for the benefit of a better place, but of our love for Christ, so that his sacrifice was not in vain.
With Tv the way it is today, and just about any vile thing on the interent you can think of, it is getting increasingly difficult to live a pure life. I am originally from from western Pennsylvania, and lived near the Amish. They live a pure life, and work the land. No electric, no TV, no internet. None of the vile things of the world to weigh them down. When I would talk to them, it seemed that they just glowed. While I dont agree with some of their beliefs, I admire their purity.
As far as 'quality entertainment', that is the trade-off for a free nation versus a theocratic type of government. A country might be predominantly Christian but as an example, Hollywood is predominantly NOT Chrsitian. There are many Christians in America who HATE what they see on TV every night, and have to turn it off. When I was growing up, the Dick Van Dike show would never show him kissing his wife on the lips. They slept in seperate beds. Almost every show was 'family safe'. Today it is common on regular TV to show unmarried couples laying in bed together. Gay, Bisexual, anything goes.
I think one of the main reasons that President Bush got re-elected is because Hollywood hated him so much. Christians figured that if Hollywood hates him so bad, he must be doing something right.
Yes, in America we are FREE to do just about anything we want to, unfortunately, many do the WRONG thing. That is the price you pay for freedom.
GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

No. Everyone is a sinner. There is no one who is not a sinner. Accepting Christ as my Savior I became a Christian. He is the key to the door. He paid for all sin and by accepting HIs payment I become a child of God. Now my goal will be to be more like Him as I live my life. Now ,however, I am His kid; I might be a brat but I am His.

I have 7 children; Five of them are phenomenal adults with their heads screwed on foreward. One of them is constantly in trouble and one has no clue what he wants to do. On their best days and their worst days they are all, each and everyone, still mine.

No, it is not a license to sin; it is the right to go home.

Nope Christianity is not a license to sin. Acxtually being a Chritian one is required to sin less (because you can't be sinless). What you cited is indeed sad and true but please remember that there are also carnal Chritians or those who know the Word but follow worldly things. In spite of getting saved Christianity doesn't exempt you from desires of the flesh.

Well, hmmmm..... Perhaps you are confusing a "Christian Nation" with real Christianity. America is a "Christian Nation", however, it is the 4% of Americans who aren't that participate in such actions and tell teh rest of us that its ok.

Christianity is not a license to sin. Paul says we should not go on sinning just of God's grace will increase on us. We are to die to our sin daily.

no

if one has saving faith, there should be a change of life as evidence of that faith in some measure. Jesus will save you 'just as you are without one plea' by grace through faith but He loves you too much to leave you as you are dead in sin and would raise you by His power to be a new creation to bear the fruit of the kingdom of heaven. It is by grace all the way

the problem is many Christians you describe might be Christian in name only, cultural but not with saving faith Someone truly 'saved' has had enough truth about God as to 'see God' and has reponded to the truth in love by grace.
whereas someone not saved might have some truth but as said above in previous post... the devils believe, but suppress truth and are not 'saved'

3 John 11

11Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

There is no verse in the Bible which says that, if you believe in Jesus you are saved. It’s a mistake which most denominations believe.

You will be saved if you believe and continue to do His will.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

"Saved"? From what?

Isn't "sinfulness" a cultural measure of one's non-conformance to local customs?

Surely you aren't implying that there REALLY is a "next life"...

My friend you are generalizing Christians. That is a question for the Protestant. The devil believe in Jesus Christ, yet is he saved?

"believe in Jesus as a God and u are saved"- that's complete absurd. this statement can justify any of the christian sinners.

They are deeply mistaken, but this is what all of them believe in :(....
