1 Chronicles 19:18
David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen.

That had to be a typo.

This is most probably a copyist error. Notice how the number is off by a single zero.

Well, there you have it. I'm completely convinced. I'm going to wager my eternal soul on a typo. That's a good enough reason not to believe in God, right? I mean that is what you're trying to peddle here, right?

Oh and to answer your question, go look up the difference between the Septuagint and the Majority Text, then get back to me.

Could have been two separate occasions because David did a lot of fighting.. If you do not like what the bible says do not read it but it might really save your heathen soul.

Maybe by horsemen, god meant centaurs. And since they were on foot, they were also referred to as footmen.
