The Nissan Versa is as close to one as you'll get. It gets 400+ miles per tank of gas, so in terms of reducing your reliance on fossil fuels, that's your best bet if you're set on buying a Nissan.

The Nissan Versa, Sentra, and Altima all get pretty good gas mileage (35 to 36 mpg). But Nissan does not have any hybrids currently in their lineup. If you are set on a Nissan, I would recommend the Altima. It is a fairly spacious sedan that you can support a family in and it has very nice styling. It also has a nice ride, and if you get the 4 cylinder, which gets the better gas mileage, get the manual transmission. That will make it more fun to drive. The Sentra can be a little small unless it is just you that will be using it, and I don't personally like the Versa's styling.

The Nissan Titan is available as a Flex-Fuel vehicle ( E85 capable)

And as the other answerers have mentioned, Nissan has some 'fuel efficient' cars. HOWEVER, Nissan is in the midst of fighting a class action suit regarding inaccurate odometers.
Honda has already lost their fight regarding the same.

If odometers are clicking off more miles than the vehicle is actually traveling, then the consumer is "duped" into believing that they are getting better MPG than reality! & Warranties expire (falsely) before they are supposed to & lease customers may be paying for excess mileage that they really didn't do!

Nissan makes a hybrid version of it's Altima. That's about as green as you get.

Enjoy,
