"Infidel" means "unfaithful one" or "disbeliever", especially in regards to a religious belief. To commit "infidelity" is to use the term in a marriage context, ie to commit adultery. A person who commits adultery is unfaithful both to God and to Spouse, and is twice then an infidel.
