"Hasta pronto" literally means: Until soon, in Spanish. It sounds better in Spanish and means 'Later (but hopefull that will be soon!).'

See you soon - but that 'soon' is very close, like a couple of hours at most!
Otherwise 'hasta luego' could be used, which isn't as close as 'pronto'.

Although the literal translation is 'Until soon', it's used when saying good-bye and can be translated as 'See you soon!'
