She can see a nutritionist for free on the NHS (if you live in uk). Tell her to make an appointment with her GP who can refer her. My friend did the same; the nutritionist devised a diet plan tailored directly for his needs.

Women retain women at a greater rate than men do, so stay away from Gatorade and drink some good old water first off. Secondly, move from light to heavier weight lifting. You WILL NOT get huge like the women you see in the magazines, they actually take years to get like that, but by a women using heavier weight her body's muscle will, again, retain water which makes you heavier in weight. You wont be pudgy neither, haha. Bread is also a good source for weight gain. Wheat or white, doesnt matter. Pasta as well. Its better to bulk up eating healthier foods than scarfing a burrito. Its more efficient and works.

Also fewer rest periods between workouts forces your body to not adapt to muscle gain and also helps in storing energy, or fat.

Protein's best for building muscle, so something along the lines of the atkins diet, combined with the gym might help her to build up muscle. The gym will have a personal trainer/nutritionist who can help build her a personal plan though, which is probably best in the loing term

Tell her not to do much cardio as this will make her loose more weight. Just a little bit and do lots of weights.
The first thing i would have suggested is carbs. But just make her eat bigger meals than she has been and make sure she has snacks in between.

Exercise plays a very important role in a person's weight.

besides this your diet also is important. You should have a balanced diet. A very easy way to know whether you are having a balanced diet or not, is to check whether your food plate has stuff of all colors. Try to include all colors of foodstuffs in ur diet. Try to eat as many vegetables & fruits as you can. One way to increase weight instantly is to have banana reguarly with milk once or twice if possible.

Yoga & meditation can help you a lot in this (through my experience). Meditation when done with affirmation (for weight gain) will definitely help you lose weight as much as you want.

Contact me if u need further info. on Meditation & affirmations for you. I shall email it to u

The gym won't put on weight unless you eat more. The gym will just make the extra weight look better.

sleep eat and do nothing... guarantee you that she'll be fat in 3 weeks..but if you want a sensible answer.. she'll just have to eat more protein food.. carb does not really make you big.. it's more an energy giver.. while protein add up fat and fixes our muscle tissues..
