Pay attention and see the horrors that continue worldwide people. What do we do about this? Nothing, because we are so wrapped up in our own lives that we fail to realize the atrocities of real life. Many of us have dealt with incest, abuse, rape, murder...animals are innocent, and therefore our best friends. People are the main issue, so knock off the projection.

Some of us have dealt with horrors you can't begin to imagine, young man, and have turned to animals for love and friendship precisely because they ARE innocent. I hope you learn a little compassion and sensitivity when you grow up. Till then, who are you to judge anyone?

I agree. While it is painful to lose a pet, it is obvious that we lose something that can give us unconditional love. But, nothing in comparison to life measures up to the human and the human spirit. Resorting to killing of any kind would make us no better than an animal, that includes suicide. Our value systems as humans sometimes gets wharped and wrapped around single issues. We have to look at the whole picture of just how unique and how special we all fit in to the equation of creation. We can be so much better than we all are, and that begins with me. Pets are wonderful, and they were put here for our comfort to show us the importance of caring for something less than who we are as humans. From that perspective, life is much more precious than death, more so from its highest dimensions.

I'm so sorry that you feel that way. Pets are companions to people who are lonely and it has been shown that owning a pet has many health benefits. Because our pets are so dependant on us, they oftentimes become like children to us. Yes, it is horrible and unexeptable that people are being killed all over the world but I can still be greatly saddened from the loss of a pet. They are two separate issues.

So why are you posting on an animal forum? Go to a different forum and leave this space for those of us who care about animals.

Humans are the only creatures that kill for pleasure and without purpose. Animals are more humane than people.

I hope you learn a little compassion and sensitivity! I mean, animals are our best friends. At most times, when someone is hurting or feels alone and unwanted, they sometimes turn to their pets for comfort. Didn't you ever have a pet?? Did you feel how it is to have a little critter to talk to or stroke when you feel alone?? Most of us turn to pets for comfort. I do hope you realize that and that you learn some compassion and love while you're there, sitting on your chair, drinking whatever it is you're drinking, wasting your time. I really hope you do.

"People are the main issue"???, phhfft, you are the one who needs to get some logic and perspective into your head.

How does someone expressing grief over the loss of their adored pet have anything whatsoever to do with not helping the starving war orphans in Sudan?

??????????????? You're just loco.
