I underwent a cataract operation recently. The nurse in attendance answered her mobile phone while the operation was still in progress. The surgeon didn't stop her,but joined in the conversation about a location for lunch. They were totally unprofessional.I was conscious, but I didn't reacted angrily,as I feared that if I did,I would have lost my eye in the process.I remained calm until the operation was over.I am developing a phobia,if I need to go for another surgery in this hospital.

It was unprofessional, thoughtless and discourteous.

You should write a letter of complaint to the hospital and send a copy to your local politician or perhaps write to the newspaper.

If you do not get an apology perhaps you should consider taking if further.

Your issue about developing a phobia - get a grip. Find a different ophthalmologist if you must.

So what are you going to sue them for? Did you care that they were talking to each other during the procedure? So why care that they were talking on a mobile phone?

Seriously, if you were conscious then the operation is hardly serious (with the exception of brain surgery). I bet you were injected with something to paralyse your eye muscles so you couldnt move them if you wanted so I doubt you'd have lost your eye.

Get real, and stop being a drama queen.

Additional: I've just looked at your previous questions. You are either a hypochondriac, or looking for procedures you dont need so you can sue someone for something.

If you try to sue the hospital you will most likely not win your case because you did not incur any damage to your eye. As for an psychological damage as you say you are developing a phobia towards that hospital for any future surgery there it will be hard to prove.

Don't be ridiculous, deciding on location for lunch is not a sueable offence even it is in an operating theatre, its frivilous claims such as this that make insurance premiums for doctors rise and these costs are then passed on to patients.

Sue? Jesus, what is wrong with you? What would you achieve from that, above and beyond the obvious? Wake up to yourself.
