The concept that men and women are equal would be laughed out of existence in Biblical times. Indeed, if you find passages in the Bible that have anything whatever to do with this modern concept, you will surprise me. Men and women are so obviously different. But there are passages about honoring women, and even considering us more valuable than men in some respects.
The line about "honor thy father and thy mother" is about as equal as you can get, and the only one I can think of that sounds like equality at all.
Being against sexism is not the same as believing the two genders to be equal. We are different, but we both have souls, and are both human. Where our rights under the law are not specifically about gender (protection for women, mostly), they certainly should be equal.

The greatest honour ever afforded to a human being by God was given to a woman. For this reason the following scripture is the greatest example of God treating men and women with equal respect...
"In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you." Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God." Luke 1 verses 26-35

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/yxS7o

Since the beginning, female is not equal to male. Adam was created first and Eve came from Adam himself.
Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Eve was created to help Adam, Gen 2:18
Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Even during the time of prophets till our Lord Jesus came, the genealogy states only the names of male, Matthew 1:1-17.
In the church, woman is not allowed to teach and was taught to be in silence.
1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Wives were taught to submit themselves to their husbands and not vise versa.
Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
It is true that St. Paul mentioned in Gal 3:28 - .. there is neither male nor female, but St. Paul refers to the church. In the sight of God, the church is one, no male nor female, no Greek neither Jew. Everybody was treated as one, but that doesn’t mean that females are equal to male. If that’s the logic, how come no female apostle was called or how come St. Paul was addressing women to subject themselves to their husbands or be in silence?

The bible isn't sexist but the people it was written for were...those passages where it say that it is a woman job is to clean house and take care of the kids wasn't being sexist. What is was saying that that each has their own responsibilities for the sake of the marriage. And at that time period for women it would have been cleaning house and taking care of the children.

"A husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise a wife to her husband. A wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. Equally, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does." 1 Corinthians 7: 3-4

"I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."--Genesis 3:16 People who are equal don't rule over eachother!
Also of importance is the famous verse- "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" (Exodus 22:18) It's not exactly sexist, but tens of thousands of women were murdered because of this verse. I've never heard of anyone interpreting this verse to mean that men can be witches as well.

Let wives be in subjection to their husbands as to the Lord, because a husband is head of his wife as the Christ also is head of the congregation, he being a savior of [this] body. In fact, as the congregation is in subjection to the Christ, so let wives also be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, continue loving YOUR wives, just as the Christ also loved the congregation and delivered up himself for it, that he might sanctify it, cleansing it with the bath of water by means of the word, that he might present the congregation to himself in its splendor, not having a spot or a wrinkle or any of such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish.
In this way husbands ought to be loving their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself, for no man ever hated his own flesh; but he feeds and cherishes it, as the Christ also does the congregation, because we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave [his] father and [his] mother and he will stick to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This sacred secret is great. Now I am speaking with respect to Christ and the congregation. Nevertheless, also, let each one of YOU individually so love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
