Eyebrows to match hair color!!!?

Question

How do i make my eyebrows match my hair color. And do i make it lighter or darker?

As in do i make the eyebrows darker then the haircolor, lighter or the same color and how do i do it?

I have reddish hair and natural dark brown eyebrows.

I like to watch this show called "What not to Wear" where they give make overs. On it the make-up artist said the best way to die eyebrows is using mustache hair die. It is much safer. She also said your eyebrows should 1-2 shades lighter than your hair color. Personally if you arent dying your hair extremely different from your natural hair color dont bother.

Typically your eyebrows should be two shades darker then you hair, NOT the exact same color.

As far as dying your eyebrows goes, it is only dangerous if your stupid and dont know how to do it. If your experienced and know what your doing you fine. I would suggest having someone do it for you the first couple of times until you can figure out how to do it yourself. Just be careful! Getting a no-drip formula is an absolute MUST so there is no chance whatsoever of any dripping into your eyes.

Beward before you start dying your eyebrows, if it's a drastic color change, just like the hair on your head, there is a lot of upkeep. Even more so with you eyebrows because they grow out a lot faster, especially if you pluck/wax already. I suggest in getting small dye kits, or just mixing 1 tbspn powder to 1 tbspn liquid in a small bowl. I apply with q-tips or a small brush. Make sure you always TIME it, and remember you can always make them LIGHTER but not DARKER. So if you think it'll take 5 mins. take the dye off after like 1 min. and then just re-apply if need be.

If this seems like too much trobule or something you dont feel comfortable doing, you could also get a good quality eye shadow similar to the color your shooting for. This technique also works to cover roots in a bind. I've found Urban Decay or other high quality brands work best. To do this get a flat make up brush, and pat on, do not brush through, just pat lightly until the color desired is seen.

Other tricks to hide un-matching eyebrows, is to make them thinnner. The thinner your eyebrows the less noticable the color difference. Just dont go too thin or you'll regret it when your 40 with no eyebrows to speak of!

Eyebrows should be a just little lighter than hair color unless you are very pale blonde or have black hair.

Pale blondes should have slightly darker brows show they show up & frame the eyes. (i.e. so they don't look like they don't have any brows)

People w/ black hair usually have black brows too.

i dont think you should dye your eyebrows as i feel people with dyed brows look fake... however, you could try using a brow pencil to lighten the shade of your eyebrow to a lighter brown...that'll be cute and it'll go with most hair colours

you ideally want to make your eyebrows and hair the same color. usually, if you got your hair dyed at a salon, you can ask them to do your eyebrows also. if you just dyed your hair a lighter shade, you can get like a facial hair at home bleaching kit and do it on your own, just make sure to watch how light your brows are getting so you don't go overboard.

just leave them the same 1 its not safe to dye your eye brows because of your eyes and ushally ur eyebrows and natural hair color arnt the same mostly your eyebrows are brown or black no matter what color hair

Leave your eyebrows alone, and dye your hair to match your eyebrows. Because if you try to dye them the may fall out and look ugly afterwards, because eyebrows are "fragile" compared to regular hair.

OK OK this is totally of subject but i think its kind of weird.. my name is Sarah D also and our avatars look alot alike! lol...

but anyways.. use eyebrow pencil it makes it darker but dont make it look trashy its very easy to make your eyebrows look bad.

also DONT try dying it its not a good idea and if you want to that badly get it professionally done

Don't do it! Very risky, eyebrows tend to break apart faster than hair!
