some kids in my neighborhood need to raise a minimum of $300 for a trip(not a school trip). Here are the circumstances:1.none of the schools will help out in any way
2.none of the parents will help either
3.they need the money in less than two months
4.everyone in the neighborhood is very poor
5.charity and bake sales dont work
6.nobody wants to donate anything
and 7.there are no small jobs or activities(baby sitting, car washing)for the kids to get money from

How would they raise enough money in time?

Divide the problem into tasks. How many kids are available to raise the $300? How old are they? Can they travel to other neighborhoods? Are their mentoring charities or groups in their area who might sponsor the trip? I would approach some charities that work with kids and ask for help. They may not want to be involved in the trip unless they can oversee it, but they may have ideas on ways to partner together. I would also approach local churches and congregations and ask for help. Many ministers, priests and rabbis have discretionary funds and can make a donation. Basically, though, the kids will have to prove that they're supervised and that it's a safe trip.

There are lots of ways to make money.

1. Target local businesses.
2. Stand on the street corner asking for money.
3. Perform a local service....car washing, carry shopping bags to the car for local supermarkets, mow lawns etc. There is always money to be made, and people always have a little change to spare.
4. Talk to your local government for help, they might not give money but they can help with the services.
5. Do a charity auction or lottery.
6. Get creative, put something on eBay, talk to local media and so on.

Just raising this money will be a great test for these students and worth the effort to try and do it.

Reread Katherine W's answer; some key things there. See obstacles as opportunities. No offense , but your question is very negative. Can you afford the price of 4 bus rides out of this impoverished community? Try some of her suggestions, I have done this with inner city kids myself, in the second poorest city in the USA. It can be done, go to more affluent areas.
