I have no coaxial digital cable input on my surround sound, only an output. I also have no audio output on my lcd other than one coaxial digital output. I need to send a coaxial digital cable into my surround sound via red and white analog cables. That is the only type of audio in on the surround sound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Are newer surround sound systems equipped with coaxial digital input?

If you're using cable/satellite box, DVD player or game console you should make the connections directly from these equipment to the surround system. You may need additional A/V switches to connect them all to the LCD and the surround system at the same time.
If what you want is to connect directly the LCD to the surround system to hear the over the air signal from the incorporated TV turner then read on:
Check back your owner's manual to assure no RCA analog audio output is available, if not then you must check for a headphone jack where you can do the connection using miniplug to RCA cable (this is your last shoot). If not then you should change your surround system.
All Dolby Digital and DTS capable surround systems are equipped with at least 1 digital input (coaxial or optical) and plenty of analog ones when they are standalone A/V receivers.
One box systems with DVD player incorporated (maybe it's your case) usually rely on the signal from the DVD disc no offering digital connections for external equipment (but some of them do) so you have to check this feature at stores.

You will need a conversion box of some kind to transform the digital signal into analog signals. I am surprised that the necessary analog connections aren't there.

I looked, but I cound not find a device that converts a digital coaxial signal into a 6 channel (5.1) RCA audio output signal.

It might be time to upgrade your A/V receiver.

No coaxial digital cable input? That does not sound like a very good surround sound system! Do you have an optical (toslink) connection on your surround sound system? If so, you can get a convertor that will take coaxial input and convert it to optical (toslink).

just use the analog red and white connectors... they can reproduce surround too, you dont need a converter signal
