The BBC reports on Jerry Falwell's preaching at Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Virginia (one of the biggest evangelical colleges in the world) that global warming is a conspiracy fuelled by liberal politicians.

Barely 24 hours later the man is stone cold. Dead as a dodo!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6659457.stm

Is this an example of the divine retribution that will befall those who foolishly ignore the Earth's plight and don't do anything about it?

And, perhaps more interestingly, is it evidence that God follows the news on BBC?

There are many highly regarded top scientists who have decried the findings of the IPCC and their credentials are as or more well recognized as the members who belong to the IPCC. Among them is the head of the Meteorological department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the finest and most highly regarded scientific institutions in the World.

Another is the leading expert and top meteorologist in France and he is joined by many of Canada's most noteworthy professors. A large group of UK scientists prepared a movie denouncing the IPCC's findings. Several countries who signed on to the Kyoto Protocol have said that upon second examination, they can no longer live up to it.

Examine the directors of the IPCC and the 4 team leaders, none of them are scientists, they are not even remotely associated with meteorology, they are from smaller countries who have no credentialed standing in this area of concern. What does that tell you?

At last count, all of them are still alive which would suggest that Jerry Falwell's departure was not associated with his stance on the subject you raised.

No, it's only a coincidence. If we could assume that it's true that he was "smited," we could assume that any person who dies after cursing God was "smited."
In this case, I think it's just a coincidence. It was his time to die. Nothing more, nothing less.
