This not a question but a warning. Xylitol that is used as a sweetner in surgar free gum is toxic to dogs. Check it out here:

OK, I guess I am the only one whose dogs don't get into things they shouldn't. I am very careful about what I leave lying around. I have read here about people who have had their dog get hold of a pack of gum. I just put this up as a warning to be careful. This stuff can kill a dog in 30 minuets or less.

Artificial sweetners are a laxative very dangerous for canine digestion they dehydrate fast

I would have thought gum is toxic to dogs, sugarfree or not. Gum is not for animals.
