There are a lot of theories as to when is the best time, but honestly the best time is one that you can consistently use. If its a time you'll have trouble motivating yourself to work out, it won't help you. While its true that working out first thing in the morning boosts your metabolism, if you aren't a morning person and have a hard time getting up for it, do it when you are more mentally prepared. Working out in general will boost your metabolism regardless of when you do it.

Depends on your personal routine. Most people I know like the early morning exercise routine because it helps them feel more alert for the rest of the day (providing they don't over do it). Some of them also claim that it boosts their metabolism too.

Personally, I like the evening for my exercise. It helps get the cobwebs out of the mind and allows you to burn off stress which you've built up over the course of the day.

according to Prevention Magazine--in the morning--which jump starts your metabolism. make sure you eat breakfast when you get home and start on your 8-10 glasses of cold water to also up your metabolism. the reason i say cold water is because your body will increase its metabolism to get the water to match your base temperature. mine is 97.9 the norm is 98.7. that was a recent article i read about and it also suggested to drink your first glass of water when you wake..
