I never had much luck with it. Even after I got a microwave with a top browner. I use the microwave for regular stuff and now have a table top combo convection/toaster oven. I really like that and use it for all baking. It gets to be 115 degrees here in Arizona and I don't want to light my reg. oven. I use my microwave every day. I wouldn't want to be without it.

A combi microwave can roast meat.

A simple microwave oven can only microwave the meat. All this does is make the water molecules jump up and down so the meat tastes boiled. i.e. not so good. You are better doing a 'pot roast'.

if you want microwaved meat to taste good, Brown the meat in butter / oil and Garlic in a pan prior to microwaving.

Roast Beef Recipe

Make slits in roast with knife and place pieces of garlic in slits.

Cover roast with salt and pepper

Brown roast on all sides in dutch oven using about 3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil.

Add large sliced onion and cook until onion is clear (about 5 minutes.)

Place roast and onions in Crock Pot

Add 3 bags of powdered gravy mix and 4 1/2 cups of water.

Cook for 1 hour on high, and aprox. 4-5 hours on low setting, depending on size of roast.

(You can add large pieces of peeled carrots and potatoes too for a full meal.)

This can also be cooked on stove (med. heat) in about 3 hours.
