There is really no major difference. Atheists are really theists. They are just in denial. God has made it possible for everyone to come to a full knowledge of him through his Son and is creation.
Deep in their heart atheists know there is a God, they just can't bring themselves to accept that fact because of the responsibility it entails or because of blatant unbelief. In these sense, you could call them heretics.
Peace and every blessing!

what about agnostics? well about the two, i think both can be pretty unintelligent at times. atheists have proof that can be seen. theists have faith and say atheists are ignorant for not having faith when there is evidence of events right in front of them. The theists way could be right, but highly unlikely. I dislike organized religion as a whole, it is corrupt and it causes much, much, much more harm than good

in the case of christians and atheists let's just say that we don't go around saying "you will face eternal torture if you DON'T give up your beliefs"
major difference:christians meddle with others lives
oh but don't put christians together with the rest of the theists...hindus,for example, are perfectly nice people

Between Theists and Atheists:
Walking with Jesus and walking alone
Light and darkness
Truth and satan's deception
Humbleness and pride
Strength in Christ and weakness in self
Willlingness to follow Jesus and stubborness to follow Jesus
God-forgiven and refusing forgiveness
Saved and unsaved
Heaven and Hell

The different is quite simple. One party is using their brain to find logic answers and the other party are using their brain to find reason for every answers.

Christians think only God can solve the world's problems.
Everyone else thinks humanity can save itself.
We've been doing a really bang-up job of that for the last 6000 years, haven't we?

The demigods (theists) always remember the lotus feet of the Lord,
whereas the demons do just the opposite
