NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That will kill your dog.
You can give your dog benadryl, my vet told me that dogs need 2x as much as the box says per pound. That may help the itchy, watery eyes. At least it will make him drowsy.
Also, you can give your dog asprin. Follow the directions on the box (per pound).

No, do not give your dog Tylenol or Advil. Make an appointment to see your vet as soon as possible - even an emergency vet clinic if your vet's office is closed. His eye problem could be minor or something pretty serious. Don't put ANYTHING into his eye until you see your vet. If he has a scratch or ulcer on his cornea, something you put in his eye may make it worse. And, try not to let your dog scratch his eye with his paw or rub up against anything like the couch or floor.

NOt its not okay...first of all what is a tylenol or advil going to do to fight the infection...nothing...the same medication could kill a cat...so dont' go around give stuff to a dog without knowing if the drug is harmful to the pet...never had a vet say to give tylenol or any human meds...
take to the vet and get the right treatment in the first...you could really make it worse... and more costly.

NO TYLENOL OR ADVIL! May be toxic!!
If you must do something:
#1 call the vet and make an appointment
#2 flush the eye with sterile saline solution (like for contact lenses)

NEVER EVER give Tylenol or Advil to a dog!!!!! Both are toxic to dogs...

Do NOT self medicate in the first place..doing so could cause seriosu harm even death to your dog...do NOT give ANY med unless advised to do so by a licensed vet and in the exact dose prescribed by a vet.

No. Advil will make him bleed from the stomach, and tylenol is not properly metabolized in the dog. Aspirin is only useful if it is enteric coated... otherwise they again bleed. the red and watery eyes are not painful. Take him to the vet, without being medicated on drugs designed for humans. .

My Mother gives her large dog 1/2 an asprin when he looks like pain. I think she may have had permission from his vet though. I would recommend Calling the Vet before you do anything, and see what they have to say. I know too much tylenol in the human body can really screw a person up, I would guess the same can happen to dogs!

NO! Acetominophen in Tylenol is poisonous to dogs. Watery red eye could be an allergy and you can give a single benadryl, but dogs can only have aspirin ( a single anacin aspirin, or baby aspirin, or 1/4 or a normal sized one). I don't remember what is in an advil, but dogs can only have aspirin based pain killers.

You could wash his eye out with saline or contact lens solution. Also Clear Eyes for people or something similar is fine too. And if you needed, you can order an antibiotic ointment from www.jefferspet.com or a local co-op to put in his eye for a minor inflamtion- name is terramyacin ointment.

Why would you give him tylenol or advil for a watery red eye??? Don't give him anything.. You don't know why his eye is like that, tylenol or advil could both cause him more problems than he has now..

sounds like the dog has an eye problem thats watering because it's irritated, medication like tyenol or advil won''t do anything for the dog but put him at risk of having some adverse reaction. maybe wash the dog's eye with bottled water and wait until you get to the vet, otherwise the dog can wait. have you ever taken advil for an ichy eye i know i never have

NOOOOOOOO!

Tylenol and Advil are deathly toxic to dogs. Many dogs die from accidentally ingesting their humans' Tylenol!

Take him to the vet ASAP. The vet will give you something appropriate for the pain if it seems warranted.
