Alas, many people learn how caustic permanent wave solution is the hard way. But most likely, it's not the chemical that is directly the cause of your hair loss. You really cannot properly wrap your own hair for a perm. I've been a hairdresser since 1970, and I would NEVER wrap my own perm.
What has happened to you is that improper wrapping has caused the perm solution to sit in one area of your hair, where the band was. That area became over exposed to the solution, and weakened it so much that very little stress to your hair, like brushing it, is causing it to break. You see, it's not falling out from the root, which is under the skin, and not exposed to the solution, but just broken hair.
Go to the nearest salon that uses Nexus products for emergency treatment. None of the products on the market can treat this kind of damage. Then purchase the products in the Nexus line the hairdresser recommends you use. And promise yourself you will never do your own perm again! Please. It breaks my heart when I see people cause their hair such damage, and give themselves such heartbreak.

It sounds like you might have overprocessed your hair!! What is falling out is probably breakage!! I would invest in a really good conditioner from a salon or sometime grocery's well carry Biolage brand. Anyways you need some to moisturize yourhair now!! So get a good conditioner and leav it on for 5 minutes and try not to blow dry your hair for at least a week and do the conditioner at least three times a week.
Infusim is great for perms to they carry a great leave in conditoner!!

I would like to know the name of the perm, was it making your hair curly or straight?
There is a line called ApHogee that you can find in Sally's Beauty Supply. They carry their protein treatment, and the conditioner that follows called the Balancing conditioner. The treatment smells like rotten eggs, as most protein conditioners do. Follow the directions and apply the conditioner again in a week ONLY if the damage is still happening. Too frequent protein treatment can cause breakage also.
Also, in the future, seek professional help for all chemical applications, PLEASE :)

Sounds like your hair is brittle from the perm..
You could either get to the hairdresser or go buy some Anti Snap Extreme by Redken and use that first everyday..
It works wonders and that's just what you could use..
I suggested that with another question here somewhere..

some different perms can be to strong for some people hair, try putting a deep conditioner in your hair,or some kind of hot oil treatment, and take it easy on your hair for a little while don't put and hot curlers or curling iron/ flat iron in your hair for a while try wearing in some up styles or if you want it out try some rollers, and yes it will grow back,BECAUSE THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO BE BEFORE.. GOOD LUCK

sorry to hear about it In a month or two your hair problem will come down and will start growing. You can use kesavardhini hair oil if you like .One small bottle of hairoil shouls be mixed with 100 ml of coconut oil and massaged into the scalp. Donot massage vigorously if there is lot of hairfall you might lose more. So just make small motions sothat your scalp takes the oil in my grand mom uses it every day. And at 72, she has classic-length hair
