There is no way to exclude the "simple answer 'To Vote' because this is the best mechanism to make the change you want.
If you try to take government by force, you will lose. If you even try to promote such an idea you likely will go to prison.
You must ask yourself, who will then be in charge? Who will make the new laws? Who will you trust to recreate your ideal government? How can you be sure you are not trading Democracy for Anarchy?
I think it was JFK who said - "Democracy is a very bad form of government but it's so much better than any other on earth."

That's an impossible dream. This is the nature of government. I am still unsure whether power corrupts or if power draws corrupted people. Either way, governments are not there to look after you. Katrina and Iraq should show you that.

DESTROY ALL TELEVISIONS. Demand that people think for themselves (God help us, but it's necessary) instead of being frightened by our T.V. News media. Things will change when we eliminate the likes of CNN and FOX news.
Also, appeal to peoples' ability to empathize with one another and they might realize that this war is the last thing they would want for their children so it should be the last thing we want for any children on Earth, Iraqi or American or Sudanese or whatever.

At this point a revolution may be the only way.
However, there might be a slightly better way, but it would take a whole lot of cooperation.
A clean slate. EVERY incumbent in every national and state office is swept out next voting cycle. That would send a message to the newcomers and their heirs for many years to come.

Political movement. If the political movement were oppressed, then a revolution would result.

Accept the responsibility of sovereignty, and live according to our highest aspirations.
Discuss issues one on one, avoid mob mentality.
