Many people who have a faith say that all religions are basically the same. They all preach pretty much the same things, and most of them promise a better life to come. So they ask, what's the difference between them. Most of the different gods are just different names for the same god.
Let me tell you the main difference between most religins. Go to Buddah's grave, and his bones are still there. Go to Mohammed's grave, and his bones are still there. In fact, go to the grave of any relious leader, and his bones are still in the grave.
Jesus has the only grave in the world where people come every year by the tens of thousands to see an empty tomb. The difference between Christianity and other religions, my God is alive.
Any comments from any other religion. Since Atheism is a religion without a god, they don't even have a grave, so why bother answering?

jen: You said Atheism is not a religion, but you're wrong. Both the belief in God or the non-belief in God has to be accepted by faith.
Since the existence of God can not be either proven or disproven, what we believe, we believe by faith.
Therefore, Atheism is as much a religion as Christianity.

Hello? My gods don't have bones in the ground either. So if that is the reason for being a Christian then why aren't you Kemetic instead?

Theo,
You need to work on your apologetics. It is called the "straw man fallacy" to open an argument with an untruth, then argue against it.
You did that at your opening when you said "Many people who have a faith say that all religions are basically the same. They all preach pretty much the same things.."
Well, you know better - you know that is not really the case. People of faith rarely say "all religions are the same" - that's a statement made by a person who either does not have a faith or does not value it.
The "empty grave" argument always goes down well on Sunday morning in church. But every religion has some peculiar fact asociated with it, some distinguishing aspect it claims. So that argument is not going to convince people here - if that's your goal. We will need to do better.
By the way, your YA record is a bit skewed:

Most people answer more than they ask. YA works better that way. Of course if your "questions" are simply preaching, there are chat rooms for that.

dude, you're so dumb. And all the people who agreed with the post so much are also dumb.
With Buddhism, the way i understand it, Buddha's soul ascended to heaven, so if the religion is correct, his bones would still be here.
As far as i know, there is no doctrine that teaches Muhammad's body shouldn't still be here.
Way to judge every other religion in the world based on one qualification of yours. If Christianity teaches that the soul is real, why would someone's bones being on Earth mean anything?
"atheism is a religion without a god". Last i checked (my cultural geography textbook), the DEFINITION of a religion is a set of practices, rituals combined with a belief about the supernatural. So atheism doesn't fit. I do find it funny though that so many christians try to put it down by calling it a religion (See, they have just as much blind faith as we do!)

Here is a comment from a fellow Christian.
I believe in God, I believe in Jesus. However, I also believe that Jesus was an amazing man and an amazing prophet. Gods are neither dead or alive. They do not die. Jesus died.
Please remember that it took hundreds of years before the church even decided that Jesus was the "Son of God." That's right... there was a delegation to vote on it. Christianity is a blended religion of Christian and Pagan beliefs. It was made into a major religion by the Roman Emperor Constantine who only did it to prevent an uprising of his people. He was a Pagan, his mother a Christian... hence the blending of beliefs. The Bible is a collection of stories that had been passed down verbally from generation to generation for hundreds of years before it was ever written down. The New Testament contradicts itself from book to book! They even voted on which books to include. Texts have been found to support that Mary was Jesus' wife, Judas was actually the most loved of all deciples, and the other deciples all wrote books. Why are they not included? They didn't get the vote. They didn't fit the mold of the image the church wanted to portray. And lets not forget that there is no way, in Jesus' time, that he wouldn't be married!! That's just a joke! Why is nothing mentioned of him from age 12 to 31? Because he was a regular man learning who he was.
Jesus was a man, just like you and I. There were remains and they are gone now due, most likely, to decomposition.
Yes, I call myself a Christian. I choose to believe in and love God. I live my life based on the teachings of Jesus. But I also have a brain that God gave me. I have common sense. It makes more sense that Jesus was just a wise and loving man instead of some mythical guy whose corpse came back to life and vanished into the sky. Wouldn't God want us to question and seek truth?
I also believe that if you are a good person, with good moral fiber, it doesn't matter what you believe. Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, etc. As long as you believe! As long as you are moral and ethical to your fellow man! Isn't that what Jesus taught... love your fellow man?
By the way, you said "Atheism is a religion without a god, they don't even have a grave..." Well, according to your statements...Christianity has an empty tomb, technically no grave. Where does that leave you?
Before you pass judgement on other religions, before you raise your foam finger saying "We're number one!", make sure you really research and look to see who is acting in the most "Christian" manner. Are you?

Um, I know I shouldn't be answering, but, that place where they say is Jesus grave? Well it probably isn't. Just a thought. who knows, his bones still may show up some time.
You may want to look up the definition of religion. It doesn't have to do with faith. Saying atheism is a religion is like saying bald is a hair color.

Wasn't sure where you were going with this at first! But once you arrived. I said Amen!
Religion is nothing but mankind's efforts to reach God. Whereas, Christianity is God's efforts to reach mankind.
Christianity is a way of life! Its the life of Our risen Lord Jesus manifest (or suppose to be) manifested in and through the life of the believer.
Most don't realizes that the Bible says they placed him in a borrowed tomb. It was a borrowed tomb, because in God's Salvation plan, he would be giving it back. Whereas, the empty tomb echos the words of the angels - He's Not Here! He Is Risen.
Over 2,000 years now have faded away. As kings and their kingdoms still lay in their graves. But Jesus, he's living, and he reigns Supreme. No power could hold him! He took deaths sting. He locked hell and the grace, and according to the Book of Revelation - He Holds They Keys.

So your point being there was never a person called Jesus? Or there was a person who was named Jesus and his bones had been desecrated?
You are trying to say christianity is a fake religion because they are worshiping an empty grave? or are you saying both this jesus and god are fake since both did not leave behind and evidences of their existence?
You are trying to say 90 years after this alleged figure died, somebody tried to captialised on this figure and create a religion out of it to control the mass?
YOU ARE RIGHT !!!!!!
(By the way, Buddha had no grave :P)
---------
ajj085 .... nowhere in buddist scripture it is written buddha went to heaven ....... it just said buddha died, burnt and his remains has been split to 7 parts to give to the kings of various parts of india as remembrance.

Jesus' (Jmmanuel's) bones were never found because the truth was not accurately told. He was still a human. I have my suspicions he never died on the day he was said to have died and continued to walk the earth and teach his teachings....but that has yet to be proven. I'm still looking for the answers. I wont be looking for them in any religious books. I know, you didn't want to hear from an atheist. Come on, you didn't really expect one not to answer now did you?

I have always wondered if this desire to be right might be the fruit of that fabled tree of knowledge. The desire to limit God, to debase others, and have the only answer has brought misery, persecution and bigotry into the world for generation upon generation. It is the path to xenophobia, genocide and arrogance.
