a psycologist is not an MD so it should be a bachelors degree or 4 years.

It depends on what it is you exactly want to do. If you want to do counseling most of the people who are counselors have at least a Masters, but they may also have a Ph.D. or a Psy.D. If you're looking into school counseling and school psychology there are specific Masters programs for that. If you're looking into private practice, then you may want to partner with a psychiatrist as well as they can prescribe medication. A lot of these things will be dependent on how well you do with your education and internship process.

for the military, you must already have your Doctorate to be considered for a Commission. otherwise, you can enlist with just a Bachelors or Masters, but not as a Psychologist.

i think that a degree is necessary. psychologist is a professional job so i think that the degree that you are going for has to be accredited in order for you to become a psychologist.
