Jerry Falwell died today. Many consider him to be the most evil man to have lived since Pope Pius XII. He created televangelism in 1969, the most perfect money laundering scheme ever devised by mankind.

I am in no position to judge Jerry Falwell, that is up to God. Salvation only depends upon one thing, and that is faith in Christ. If Falwell had faith he will be saved, if not he will not be. Salvation in Christianity does not depend on anything else.

I'm a Christian but in no way a follower or fan of Jerry Falwell. I think he did more harm than good in his "ministry".

However, I don't know for sure whether or not he was a real Christian. That is something only God knows. He displayed some of the fruits of the spirit, and some of the flesh. It is not for any of us to figure out. I know that I did make a decision a long time ago that he wasn't a "man of God" for me to listen to or partake in his ministries; but that is different from his own personal salvation, which is only between him and God.

I think it's a shame that people are attacking him on the day of his death. Regardless of who dies, I like to give them the respect they are entitled to as humans. They have families and loved ones who will miss them just as my dad did or as anyone else does.

I am not a big fan of President Reagan either; nor am I a big fan of Jerry Garcia. To be honest, I loathed these people in terms of what each of them stood for. However, when these people died, I did not gloat, I was not happy, as much as I didn't like them. Instead, I felt for their families and was sad for them to have died. It is so inhumane to me that a person can be "glad" when someone dies, even if it is someone that they didn't particularly care for or even hated in life.

People need to have more respect for the deceased.
