We can't. We have to be willing to make some sacrifices, or suffer the consequences.

Look at this another way if we don't forgo some of our needs and comforts and global warming wins, where would we be?

We're going to have to forgo some of our needs and comforts, or at least reduce them. For instance, my dad knew in the late 1960s that aerosol sprays were ruining the ozone--yes, some consumers stopped using them--some companies used containers other than aerosol, but there are still plenty of those cans in the stores to purchase.

Riding the bus or car pooling can help with keeping the air cleaner from less auto emission. What is more comfortable then letting someone else drive while you read a book or relax and listen to music? This is just one way to have the best of both worlds.

There are quite a few ways.

Go organic - Eat foods you like, but are healthier for the planet.

Carpool - The less driving, the better.

Muffler purifier - Help by putting a purifier next to your muffler, to reduce greenhouse gases.

Write a letter - Send a complaint to a company you see emmiting gases, asking them to stop. Try petitioning.

Other transportation - Walk, run, ride bikes, try to get around without using cars. The less, the better.

Needs and Comforts are two totally different things.
Once we all step back and realize that a lot of what we have, we don't really NEED, the world will begin to heal. I mean, for example, we don't NEED to have our thermostats set at 68 degrees (knock them down a few notches and throw on a sweater)...we don't NEED television...we don't NEED to drive to the store to pick up a 6-pack...
If we think before we act, the little things will add up.

no one is asking you to throw your tv out your window or to stop talking on your cell phone. They are just asking you to be more responsible while doing it like using better power strips and disposing of electronics properly when they are no longer of use to you. Think you need to look at it from a different perspective. What good will your comforts be if you don't have a world to live in?

Solar, windmills, & hydroelectric. Convert to electric vehicles. Decentralize powerplants (50% of power is lost in transmission which is thought better than poluting the cities; though this is removed with the aforementioned power generation methods)... by putting lots of windmills and solor in each community (e.g. housing block). This can easily be done by changing the laws to penalize centralization and reward decentralization.

Build more nuclear plants like France has, There air is crystal clean, because 80% of the energy is nuclear. They ,also sell there energy to Britain and Germany. Plus France recycles the fuel rods from there nuclear plants for future use.

Global warming is natural - it melted the ice ages. The notion of a global warming beyond that is a myth, instigated by that liberal nutcase Al Gore, who also claims to have "invented the Internet."

This is dangerous distraction from the real enemy that wants to destroy us, and focusing upon such an absurdity could threaten our national security. THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF A DEMOCRAT GETS IN THERE.

We can quit being such a throwaway society. Think before we do or buy things, or throw things away.
We don't have to give up much for the world to gain alot!
