if you decide you want to lose some weight (fat)
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

She sounds like a bad friend. You should tell her to stop saying things like that because it hurts your feelings. If she's a good friend, she'll understand, and leave you alone. If she doesn't, she's probably not a very good friend. Oh, and also 145 pounds is not fat. It's a perfectly healthy weight for a 16 year old, and I don't think you need to diet. If you ask me, it sounds more like she's a little bit underweight.

People will quote BMI figures day in and out around here, but the only truly accurate way to determine if you need to lose weight is to do a skin-fold measurement.

focus on the body composition and not simply numbers on a scale. if the body fat percentage is at or below normal levels for your age there should not be many unwanted bulges on the body

It's really up to you. If you are happy with your weight, there should be no reason to lose weight! Also, as long as you are eating healthy and keeping exercise somewhat you should be fine!!!
