I have asked a lot of psychics in the web for help and I am not sure if what I did was the right thing to do being a religious person and all.

If they call themselves "psychic," they're fake. That's as simple as it gets. Look at it this way: If you were about to ask a true psychic a question, wouldn't they know you were about to do it, and send you an answer anyway? (Okay, PART of your answer--for the rest of it, please insert credit card number here _______.) You know: Just to convince you not to try the competition.

Even though I'm not religious, let me ask you a question that might appeal to your faith. Don't you think there are some things God doesn't want you to know right yet? I mean, what'd be the point of life if you knew the answers to all that troubles you? What direction do you have left to go, other than to kick up more stuff you don't know the answers to? Most faiths teach that life's a journey, right? So travel a bit. Forge yourself through experiences. Then, as an old man, looking back on your life, you'll know that you've truly earned the knowledge you carry around with you.

[Edit] Hmm... apparently the idea of getting out of the house once in a while is just too much to handle for a few of the "thumbs down"er people. Fine by me! Keep clickin'.

Some would say I have psychic abilities and yet I am a Christian who the Holy Spirit gives me my information and not a spirit helper or spirit guide like a psychic uses.

At times I have been wrong, as a wrong spirit has come upon me and not the Holy Spirit and given me wrong information. Though I do not let that stop me as I have been correct on a large number of ocassions.

I guess a psychic would be genuine if they are recieving off a genuine spirit and that spirit wants to be accurate with them. As I believe the spirits are demons that phychics use, many of them can be deceptive.

I have not heard of many people who don't charge as a proof of their ability.

I ran a website offering free prophecies for a year and did not charge and I did this as a felt as long as I could do it without it costing money I may as well pass that beefit on to others. Three people gave me money at time when I needed it.

Many people have the gift, I wish you the best in your quest. The Bible says to stay away from clarivoyants and psychics and yet it is up to you to obey.

Have a good day.

I can't tell you if Chip Coffey is real or fake, but I can tell you psychics are real. I'm one. It doesn't work the way you think. You can't always force information. It's more like tuning a radio in to a certain frequency. Some days you get better reception than others. I'm not a professional psychic, I just live with it.

I can't believe so many here are pouting off answers like "psychics are fake." It's as if they have been programmed to say such things without being open-minded at all by judging things on their own instead of letting other people lulling them into their beliefs. Talk about people who believe in paranormal being suckers? Hell, the real gullible people to me seems to be the skeptics. Try to keep an open mind or as they call in Zen "beginner's mind." Anyways having said that we are all psychics to an extent. I have experienced many psychic phenomenon. Psychic ability is roughly intuition taken to a precision level. That's why so many out there cannot just figure out the winning numbers of the lottery because it's equivalent of having "photographic memory" of 'psychism.' Imagine we a tribal person who cannot read finding a group who can read and instantly going to the conclusion that since one cannot memorize everything verbatim reading must be "false." Genuine psychic are people like Allison DuBois and Sylvia Browne. Read the book Spook by author Mary Roach. Being a hardcore skeptic at one point she narrates the story of DuBois telling sth. about her which she couldn't have known by any other means. Hallucinogenic drugs and meditation also greatly increases psychic abilities. Also it's a fact that even CIA took interest in people who could Remote View. However, there are also people like Miss Cleo who, I assume, give broad and general and vague answers to questions and are mainly interested in business. Know that psychics are not gods and the only way you can find if they are 'for real' or fake is by giving them a little leeway and seeing if they can zoom in to the right answers from general fishing. Have fun! :-)

Find someone that can accurately tell you what HAS happened, before you believe what they say WILL happen.

I did not believe up to about 6 years ago, when I met a psychic that did a reading on me in the park. She told be many things about my past including names, events, dates, etc. None of which anyone would know but me. She then went on to tell me about my future, much of which has come true so far.

For all those that say psychics are fake, you need to open your eyes to reality. You don't believe in a physical person having psychic abilities, but you believe that the invisible man could create the earth?

As far as arguing that psychics would not charge for their readings.... Since when was living FREE for psychics? They have to eat and pay bills too.

Just to ask what might happen in the future shouldn't be any kind of A sin, but it's not my place to talk about that seeing that I'm not religious. As for knowing rather A psychic is real or not....I don't think there are real ones, but one way to tell that they are completely fake is if they just start asking you A ton of questions without giving you A substantial view of what's happened or what will. For example if they ask you if you have A dead grandparent you miss, that could cover alot of ground with alot of people.

Sorry for the long reply, hope the answer helps. :):):)

Internet Psychics? That's up there with internet dating...for the most part, do you REALLY know...for sure...they are who they say they are? Seems they are telling you something that goes against your beliefs--that's what you must hear! Or are you saying you think contacting the psychics was not the right thing to do because of your religious beliefs? Please elaborate so I don't waste your time answering something you are not asking because I am not psychic, (although I can usually read between the lines pretty well...)
Here's something you can take to the bank honey: Your life is what YOU make it! God blessed you with free will to make choices. What is it you need help with? I am sure there are many qualified professionals that are certified to help you, & I don't mean therapists, unless that is the help you need. The best fortune teller in the world is in your heart, for everything else there's MasterCard. (payment for services rendered by a professional in whatever field you need).
Good Luck!

Don't listen to those who tell you that all psychics are fake, because they are not. All of us have the potential to be psychic, and we are all psychic to one degree or another. But, most of us, have not developed our innate abilities to the same degree as some others. Those who have, are in the minority, but they do really exist. Even the genuine ones are not 100% infallible, because they cannot be. The nature of ultimate reality is such that everything is actually happening in an eternal NOW! and it is kind of like tuning into one radio station, and then switching to another. The genuine psychic can be tuning into one possibility or probability, and then actual events that are experienced by the person involved, can change by one change in thought, or one small change in a decision made, or action taken. The future is simply not fixed, or set in stone, and be experienced lots of different ways. So the psychic can tune into one probable future event, even the most probable one, and if nothing happens to change that, then the psychic will seem to be proven correct. But, if even one little thing is changed, that can change the outcome, and then the psychic will seem to be proven wrong! *sm*

Most psychics are fake. True psychic will help people without asking for payment.

Rather than going to a psychic, why don't you go direct to your own religious spiritual healer.

One website that does not ask specific payment for doing spiritual healing is www.darulsyifa.com. Try search in googles.

You sound confused.
To tell a fake, you need to understand the principals of prestidigitation and cold reading.
But if you don't believe it's right, why involve yourself in it? Regardless, know this: Psychic ability is a gift of God. But HOW IT IS USED is a big key as to its righteousness. Generally, if they're making a living at it, it's likely fake. Godly gifts are passed on freely.
