I'm pretty sure pedophilia just isn't an "American" thing...
It might seem to happen a lot here because America is huge and therefore has way more priests than a single country in Europe or the likes.

the priests want to marry and the pope says no.
they should leave the church. They are forfeiting their everlasting lives being enclosed with nothing but men. They have normal urges for closeness and sex. The only outlet is masturbation and the other guys...and because they don't want to be judged by their peers they molest small boys that look up to them.

Just because it's reported the most in america, doesn't mean it's not happening in other places. In other countries child sex is much more common and a lot harder to get rid of. In a lot of countries you can go buy children for sex on the street just like you buy a hooker.

It has happened other places as well. In this country we have such a strong tradition of the free press and personal free speech and standing up to authority that it couldn't be hidden as well.

I am sure that it happens in other countries just as much. Our media is not government sanctioned like most other countries are, so we hear a whole lot more of stuff like this.
