I also came across a forum where different people expressed their views about this topic. One lady stood out . she had severe hearing loss. and she was extremely delighted to be able to appreciate the hearing world of sounds. She went on the talking circuit. She wrote multiple articles a and books. Where before, communicating with her husband was an exercise in futility; now she found their relationship improved thru shared experiences and effective communication.

Highly regarded, high success rate. The infection scare a few years ago was for a different brand, nothing to do with cochlear. Not suitable for everyone, getting better all the time. I'm sure I read just this week they just released a new version , maybe with an internal battery or something ? They are getting more compact all the time, so if it's for an adult you could wait a while for an even smaller one. It's Australian, so it must be good !

I watched a video about it, and it's pretty good. It's very effective because it helps replace the lost hairs that send messages to the brain. On the video they showed that most patients could hear 100% again.

I don't really know much about them, but I do know a super great ENT in Wisconsin... Michael E. Becker with UW Madison. He's been my ENT for over 20 years... and he is both my kids' ENT... The ONLY ENT I trust...
