I dont know but call a real estate agent in manhattan
If your in the city they can meet you and give you the addresses of some that are availible
Looking at singles and one bedrooms in the early 90s they ran about a thousand for a room with a tub and a kitchen and a seperate toilet lol but,...... you had to walk through a restaurant to the roof and there was the box lol
the other one was a nice building in midtown, and the one window there u coul see light about a mile between the building out to the street ok a half mile and you had to walk tru the bedroom to get to the bath I ended up in a soho 5 story walk up ( Dont forget your umbrella) 5 storys back up lol
The hell with new york lol
The UN PLAZA building for ambassadors was the nicest complex I was in, and even though th rooms were huge
the kitchen was the size of a closet lol
62 stories above all the noise though
Upper east side is the best area of New York though there are other that are nice, the people there are usually well doing and it quieter and clean. It was the west village that was like I dont think so good luck ! It is a fun exciting city, and no place like it. But I still say visit, dont live there

It depends on what your idea of typical is.
If you are looking for anything that is more than 900 sq. feet with an elevator you will have to pay at least 4K. A broker in NYC takes about 15% of your annual rent...ANNUAL. You can find apartments that are slightly less expensive in walk up buildings but not much. If you use craigslist, I highly advise you to search only by owner. THere are a lot of brokers on there that say they are "no fee" and post apartments that they do not have access to. Good luck!

I have a friend paying $4000 for it. Its not that big apartment but its 2 bedroom and close to the UN headquarters. I dont have a range but I would think you should expect to pay at least $4000 for it.

I was just looking up the same thing earlier today. For a 2 bedroom in Manhattan I don't think you will find anything for less then $2k/month.

$2,000 and up. Don't bother with real estate agents if it's going to be your first apartment in the city. They can smell newbies from a mile a way and will rip you off. Try craigslist.org
