Crate training my new 10 week old toy miniature schnauzer. So far she has been good sleeping in her crate from about 12-6. My question is, if she is already sleeping at 10, is it a good idea to wake her up, take her outside again around 11 or 12, or just let her stay asleep? Would that likely lead to an accident if she is in her crate for that long?

No, don't wake her up. If you hear her being restless or whining in the crate during the night, then by all means run her outside. In a few weeks she should be able to hold it throughout the night. Most pups don't want to mess in the crate, which is why it is an excellent training tool...she should let you know if she has to go.

A puppy is like a baby, heck it IS a baby. It needs to sleep A LOT, let him sleep when he wants for as long as he wants. At night try keeping him in a cage. All puppies sleep for different amount of times. Trust me, I've had quite a few puppies in my life time.

My puppy (9 weeks old) is in a crate at night time too. He goes to bed at 9 and then I wake him up at 10:00 and give him a toilet break. At first he thought it meant playtime but he is good now he just goes back to sleep. I have been doing it for about 2 weeks now. If you let them sleep too long they arent tired, so maybe take them out sooner rather than later in the night. After going on toliet break at 10 my puppy lasts until 6:00 in the morning. It works perfect!!

You might let her sleep for another hour, but I bet she has a little puppy bladder so it's better to take her out.

We have a puppy and we take him out at about 3 in the morning so he can pee (we go to bed at 10). That's about 6 hours for us, so if you're at home while your puppy's in her crate, maybe you can see if she wakes up at any particular time and let her out then.

Good luck!

We get our pup up and out at a set time of midnight every night reguardless because that is when we go to bed, and we are trying to instill in him that time to go potty. Even if he is asleep, we get him up gently and take him out.
He is five months old now, and he goes out with no problem for last call, and lets us sleep till almost 8am. It worked for us in regulating his potty time and keeping his schedule.

puppies can hold there pee 1 hour for every month there alive up to a year, I would wake the pup and take her out, she sounds like a great dog already if she has made it even one nite without a accident at that age.

i think you should wake her up and take her out, but you might be waiting for a few before she 'goes' b/c she'll be sleepy. If you just let her sleep chances are she'll have an accident, unless you take her out 2 hours earlier than you normally would.

Let her sleep. She'll let you know if she needs out.
