Unfortunately, it sounds actually legitimate. There are several factors that play into when you go to the dentist and have work done after a period of time. When they work on the teeth, yes there will be new adjustments to the teeth, especiallly if there were several cavities. It sucks, I know, trust me, I've been there. Also when they clean away excess plaque, that is exposing the teeth's cracks and crevices to sensitivity. kind of like the dirt was protecting you from pain. But in reality, it was making it worse, because it was eating away at your teeth. I would suggest using a sensitive toothpaste to help with the hot and cold pain Sensidine is great. Also, the weather change also brings out more in the pain issue. My teeth are really sensitive when the weather changes. If you would feel better about going for a second opinion then go, but I think you will be ok. Good luck!

First off all six cavities is a lot. A second opinion should have happened then. Three weeks later and your teeth still hurt there is a problem. Dental work is a minimal procedure a few days and you should recover. If you feel work has been done wrong and you filed any of it under insurance or paid with a credit card. Call and ask the companies for advice. They represent you. It sounds like some poor work has been done or you could have an infection causing the pain either way the dentist is liable.

Well, I have some teeth that have been worked on and unfortunately some of them do become permanently sensitive to hot or cold. The ones that hurt while chewing or biting may be nothing but I would say it never hurts to get a second opinion if you really feel something may be wrong.

get another opinion just in case but remember that white fillings are often cold sensitive for awhile. I have almost the exact same story as you. Went in for a cleaning and one small filling, was told I needed fillings on the backs off all 4 of my front teeth, walked out with terrible looking teeth, unmatched composite, and lots of pain. i went back 4-5 times and they kept telling me I was fine. I went somewhere else and found out I needed a root canal. A week later I was in pain again, the tooth next to it also needed a root canal. Root canals on both of my front teeth. They of course need posts and cores and eventually crowns so without insurance this is costing me 3-4000 after all is said and done.
Definitley go get a second opinion from someone else, hopefully its something easy but be prepared just in case. You said you are only sensitive to cold right? If you become sensitive to hot its almost for sure going to need a RCT.

Go see another dentist.
Maybe this doctor didn't do a good job in cleaning them
Get a second opinion.
I would think 3 weeks is a good waiting period.
My mother had the same problem, I arranged for her to see a another dentist, The new dentist said the old dentist didn't do a proper job in cleaning.

i do not recognize that i will answer your question, yet it truly is the adventure I had at my dentist's workplace. I used the restroom there, and contained in the wastebasket by utilising the bathroom, become an empty prescription bottle. I picked it up and appeared at it. It become for Valium, prescribed to him, and it reported to take one earlier each and every appointment. i fairly do imagine it reported 'each and every'. even if it did, or no longer, i recognize for a actuality it reported 'appointment'. So, possibly it truly is why his voice is monotone, or why it form of sounds like he hates his job. i imagine if someone needs valium to get by an afternoon's artwork, he ought to in assessment to his job. And if he's on adequate of it, he basically would look like a zombie.

IF THESE TEETH HAD WHITE FILLINGS THESE CAN BE SENSITIVE TO TEMPERATURE CHANGES.
THE BITE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED JUST ONCE.
I'D WAIT FOR SOME WEEKS, THEN IF THINGS DON'T IMPROVE SEEK A SECOND OPINION.
