I've noticed that 3-5 days a week working out (weight lifting or resistance training) seems best to improve muscle mass and strength. Once you reach your goals, however, it only takes 2 workouts a week to maintain your level of fitness.

I depends on your level of fitness, like tre said.
If you've been lifting for a solid year and you take a week off, you won't notice a difference.
If you've been lifting for 2 weeks and you take a month off, you have to start from scratch.
A good rule of thumb: the time that you've been lifting is how long it will take to lose what you've gained. This is very general.

it depends on how fit you are and genetics.
i took a year off because of medical problems, i been back in the routine since march and i am now about 75% recovered to previous levels. i expect by the end of the summer to have exceeded my previous strength and endurance.
but i have taken a few weeks off before and had no noticable difference in lifting, but in running yes.

It depends on what you do. If you drink or use drugs, very fast but if you eat right and take in protein who will start getting noticeably soft in about 6 months. But each week you lose strength

Weeks. Personally it takes atleast a week off of my routine before I start to feel weeker. The longer you stay off though, the harder it is to bounce back.
