Is it ok to have sex with someone who is HIV + if you are the same or is it still considered risky since not all infections have the exact same DNA?

Dr Drew is a d*ck, and it's not okay. Being infected and having unprotected sex with another infected person means you'll get their strain as well, and that's never good. Super strains resistant to treatment are invented that way. Have all the sex you want with anyone, infected or not, so long as it's protected sex. Not a thing wrong with condoms and a little common sense.

That's correct you run the risk of re-infection because not all strains are the same. Treatment will not work at all in this case.
There is a news article on persons who still choose to go to "HIV" parties and live a risky life if you are curious. While I am giving you the link, sometimes they move things around on that site and the link becomes ineffective. Story is called "Bug Chasing: The Shocking Quest To Become HIV-Positive" on www. orato.com

Actually, if you have HIV and have sex with someone else with HIV, the diseases cancel each other out...

Actually, there are different strains of HIV, you could be infected with both.
