The Muslims deny Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. They deny that Jesus shed His own blood for the remission of our sins, so didn't raise from the dead, defeating death for us.
So, since Jesus Christ is the foundational Rock of the Church of Christ, the two books (Koran & Holy Bible) are incompatible. One is the Christian foundation and one isn't. One is Christian. One is antichrist.
And they have different Gods.

The Islamic religion also recognizes Jesus and Abraham as prophets of God as well as their greatest prophet and founder of their religion, Muhammad. They call God Allah.
They pray in a temple called a masque, which is much more plain then a catholic church, and they also have to statues or other figures of important figures, because they think that if you pray with a statue of god in your presence, you are praying to the statue, not god.
There are 3 branches of Islam, the 2 biggest being Sunni and Shiite, (I can't remember the third >_>" )
Their biggest difference is on the whos and hows, who should run the religion and how it should be done. One, I can't remember which, has saints and shares a lot of similarities with catholics.
Their holy book, the Qur'an, tells much of the same as any other holy book. Be good. It has a few different rules though. You have to pray 5 times a day, and when you do you must face the holy city Mecca.
Thats about all I can pull of the top of my head, but do you have any more questions?
I can't believe how many people think Islam is evil.... (>_>)
It's not, it's just a different religion. Some people believe this, and some people believe that, and it's not a religion of evil. In fact, you're not even allowed to drink.

My Muslim friends tell me that Christians and Muslims are "brothers" and "share the same god" but take a closer look at Islam and you'll find that is not true. Allah was a moon god that the nomadic tribes of Mohammad's day worshiped. The God of the Bible is the one, true Creator God. Islam is a man-made religion started by Mohammad in the mid 7th century AD. Christianity is not man-made, it is founded on trust in Jesus Christ, true God in the flesh and the only name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved whereas Islam has no plan of salvation or forgiveness of sins. A good website or book on apologetics (such as the titles "So What's The Difference" or "Spirit of Truth, Spirit of Error" etc) will give you the facts about Islam and Christianity and compare what they believe. Check it out!

I have had the same question about Islam. But if you know your Bible, you know that they do not view some particularly eventful things that are in the Bible. Like the child of promise being Isaac, they don't believe that, and the fact that Jesus is God, they don't believe that, and that Jesus died for the sins of the world, they don't believe that, and that the only access for peace with God is through Jesus, they don't believe that, and that Jesus is the Sonm of God, they don't believe that in the Christian sense of the word, and they don't believe any of the Old Testament except for the parts that they want to believe in, the same is true for the New Testament, they don't believe that denying Jesus as Lord is antichrist in attitude ( John's letters) and they don't believe that Jesus was around before the world and created it, and they don't believe that Ishmael was cast out of Abraham's camp along with his mother. There are many more issues that make them different to Christianity. And they think that their way is the right way.
I hope that now you can see a difference.

Yes there are similarities I am a Christian but ill try to stay objective here... Christians and Muslims believe in the same God (the God of Abraham aka Allah) They diverge at Isaac (Judaism and Christianity) and Ishmael (Islam)... Islam believes in the prophet Mohamed and Christians believe Jesus is God. Muslims believe Jesus is a prophet not Deity. Someone please correct me if Im wrong here but they believe in parts of our Bible the Injeel which is the old testament and what Jesus says (in the red letter Bible its the red letters :) ) Whenever the Bible contradicts the Koran the Koran overrules it and Muslims say those parts of the Bible are corrupted by the Jews... I am trying to learn more about Islam and there are lots of good books out there you can read to learn more.
pastorart and Innokent:
actually yes they are the same God... And just as there are Muslim extremists there are also Christian extremists... not as many but yes there are. There are Muslims who do not believe in violence... its based on interpretation (just like we have different denominations)
blessed:
Muslims can argue Christianity was a man-made religion since it did not exist before Jesus Christ came in the form of man to earth... Just a thought....
I find it a little weird that Muslims believe Jews corrupted the Bible even though why would Jews, who dont believe in the Deity of Jesus, corrupt it in favor of Jesus being God...

Yes, we believe in the same God. In Arabic we call him Allah
If you take the Bible in Arabic language, you will see word "god" there will be as well Allah..
This religion ( Islam) was started by God/Allah, who sent to generations many different prophets to teach people about truth, sins, worship, life etc.. God'`/Allah `s prophets were sent more than 125 000 including Moses, Abraham, Solomon, Isaac, Ismael, Jesus and the last prophet Mohammed..
Why Mohammed got another revelation after Jesus?
After "creation" and "establishing" of Christianity, the word of God sent through Jesus got corrupted by the people and changed a lot the way of worshiping..
So the last prophet had been sent with the eventual word of God/Allah and His revelation-Quran. That prophet was Mohammed.
If you read Qur'an you will find a lot of events and confirmations which were described somehow in Bible already ( this is how God is confirming the previous sent revelations) and you will definitely find the blaiming words about innovations which people had made wrongly after Jesus...
People started to create Trinity, Son of God, Mother of God which was wrong, as God is the One to worship
So Mohammed had brought the last word of God to the nations..He brought word of Peace=Salam=Islam..(as all previous prophets used to do - to bring word of peace=Islam)

Well, of course a muslim is going to say they worship the same God. The fact is they don't. The islamic god, allah, was the name of the pre-islamic moon god and has nothing to do with the Christian God. Mohammad started the religion and used the name, allah, (which was known by everyone at the time---because it was the name of their moon god) to unite the people under one god (instead of praying to a hundred different gods, they now just had one god to pray to.)
People will lie and say allah is not the moon god, but they say this out of ignorance. Allah is indeed the nonexistent moon god from pre-islamic times.
islam started as a peaceful religion....shortly after its inception it turned to the sword. The peaceful route wasn't working so they started to spread the word by way of the blade, with violence. Not much has changed....
Muslims do not follow the Christian God. You can't believe in God, but then reject His words.
The facts are the facts.

Muslims believe in the God of Abraham. Jews believe in the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Most Christian sects believe in the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob but also believe that the Godhead is three-parts. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirt. Like Heart, Soul and Might. Muslims believe that you must earn your way to Allah (God of Abraham) through a righteous life and good works as written in the Koran, Most Jewish sects also believe in righteous life and good works, only as written in the Torah (Old Testament). Most Christian sects believe that salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ (the Lamb of God, the Great High Priest), First. Then righteous life and good works result as you are redeemed, saved, justified, sanctified, in Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit.
Muslims and most Jewish sects believe that Jesus was only a teacher or prophet. Christians believe that Jesus is the great "I am", a part of God, was with God at the time of creation (Let 'us' created God in 'our' image), the son of God, the Messiah promised in the Old Testament prophets, and the only way to salvation and eternal life.

Yes, I think that sincere Christians and Muslims do actually believe in the same God but call Him by different names. In fact Allah simply means 'The God' in Arabic.
For example, it is my understanding that one of the first things that Mohamed asked the people of Arabia when He began to teach them about God was: Why did you not believe in the teachings of Jesus when His followers (that is Christians, a word which means 'followers of Christ') came to you with guidance from God?
Despite the fact that there are many disagreements today between (some of) the followers of Jesus and (some of) the followers of Mohamed, I believe sincerely that if Jesus and Mohamed met they would be in perfect agreement, and that they would lament the fact that some of their followers were arguing (or worse) about details that missed the essential and most important point -- that both of their religions -- and belief in God -- are supposed to be the CAUSE OF LOVE AND UNITY between people.
I am a Baha'i - so I believe what Baha'u'llah taught about the founders of the great world religions, like Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, Moses, and others: "If thou wilt observe with discriminating eyes, thou wilt behold them all abiding in the same tabernacle, soaring in the same heaven, seated upon the same throne, uttering the same speech, and proclaiming the same Faith." p.153-154, The Book of Certitude
Despite all the arguments and assumptions to the contrary, isn't is possible that there really is only ONE Faith of God that has been revealed by ONE God in different 'chapters' to different peoples at different times and places throughout history? Is it possible that we are missing the main teaching of harmony and love that all these great "manifestations of God" taught when we argue amongst ourselves about interpretations and practical details that were not at all central to their messages?

Muslims believe that the God of Abraham is the same God for all three religions, Islam, Judiasm and Christianity. We believe in ONE God. Allah is the name of God. We believe in Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed. We believe in the miraculous conception on Mary. We believe Jesus is a prophet. We do not believe he is God or a son. We believe Jesus did not die on the cross. We believe he ascended to heaven. We believe he will return to kill the antichrist.
