I'd like to be buried in a washing machine, to confuse the archaeologists.

I want all usable organs harvested and then bury or cremate the rest... In my living will it stipulates my next of kin should do which ever costs the least at the time of my death... it also stipulates should burial be the choice the cheapest coffin should be purchased as well as the cheapest burial plot available.. If cremation is the choice it stipulated spreading the ashes over the forrest (any forrest) no urn...
I am dead it really doesn't matter to me if the remains are in a gold urn or a silk lined coffin and the money I leave can be used for much better things..
My living will also stipulates a party upon my death I want people to remember the good times the fun the sillyness not be somber I am not a somber person so why should people remember me by being somber.. Have a kegger..

It used to be that I thought quick cremation and an Irish style funeral party afterward with lots of laughter and music would be the way to go. But my dear Mom so patiently explained to me that people NEED to see the body so they can accept the death and move on. So now I go to the embalmer (shudder) and some fool will put too much makeup on my vampire white face and probably tease my hair up like an 80's icon. Could it be any more humiliating than that? Bleh!
The bear thing? I like it. Except pre-schoolers might be too squeamish, I remember my boys couldn't see anything gross enough when they were about 7 or 8.

I'm donating my organs, but after that I cannot really decide.
I do not wish to be embalmed, and yet I have read recently that cremation releases a large amount of harmful gases into the environment. I suppose that I'm still leaning toward cremation (my grandmother recently passed away and was cremated as soon as possible, without allowing anyone in the family to view her body. I think it's best that way). I may just donate my body to a medical school, though.

Cremation. Either way is as good.We are not the material any way. I understand that putting a body in a casket to rot and never full break down is not good nor is putting that big box in the earth a waste of space and pollutes the earth. And because many people are so attached to their body that if it isn't cremated or fully eaten (as you like) then the soul may hang around as a ghost. So the main thing is fully dispose of it ashes to ashes dust to dust. No dust in the coffins of today. Or belly to dust as you like.

I'd like to be stuffed, given to the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History, and featured as the focal point in a special display titled:
Atheist... the final stage in human evolution.

I don't need to be embalmed that only preserves the body! The sins of your life determines the rate of decaying. I suppose I would be viewed by family, so they can have closure. Don't need a fancy coffin, something earth friendly please. I would like to be burried in the woods of a mountain, where it is peaceful and quiet. And a marker in case my children feel the need to visit! But I pray I will be in the grace of the LORD!

I used to believe that donating my body to science.. donating my organs.. etc was the best way to go...
But that was before someone I know got stuck with a bill for the hospital to harvest his dead wife's organs in order to donate them...
It was also before I realized that this body is a Gift from Heavenly Father and that it should be treated with respect.. even after death.. so now I want to be buried properly.

I really like Elliot idea about confusing scientists of the future but I think I actually want to go to the landfill, haven't you guys seen the 40 year old hotdogs they dug up that were preserved? I'll be a modern day pharaoh, they'll look at all this stuff around me & try to link it all to me, I wish I could be there to hear the theories...................

Cremation. Too many land fills already.
If I could get in on that Bear Chow thing after my organs are donated that would be cool though.

Any useful organs can be harvested. Take what's left of the corpse and either cremate it and scatter the ashes anywhere as long as it's not Florida. Or bury me "green" (no embalming, in a biodegradable coffin), so the worms and plants can take what they need.
