I just watched CNN. There was a story that said that scientologists just made a video that blames the holocaust on pyschiatrists. Is that true? Do they honestly believe that or is just one scientologist that believes that?

I don't care what they believe or do as long as they don't infringe on my rights and my practicing my faith. I was just curious whether it was a belief held by one guy or the whole organization.

I know all about the holocaust. But...I don't blame pyschiatrists for the holocaust. I blame Nazi's.

Scientology is a cult. You have to understand that one of the many typical cult tactics is "scapegoating a specific out-group" The cult has to have some ever present enemy to oppose and battle. Hubbard chose psychiatry possibly because the American Psychological Association, following the 1950 publication of Hubbard's self-help treatise, "Dianetics," advised its members against using Hubbard's psychological techniques with their patients. Another possibility was that there have always been a certain amount of people who oppose psychiatry on principle or due to a dislike of medication.
Having dubbed psychiatry the "number one threat to the planet", Hubbard ensured that his cult would be united not only in their adoration of him and his techniques, but also under the banner of anti-psychiatry.
It's unfortunate to note that Scientology's anti-psychiatry zealotry has resulted in a number of tragic deaths, including that of

Yes, Psychiatry still believes that the cause of mental troubles or evil is genetical. Nazi Germany was educated into that they were the "superior race" and it was a charitable cause to eliminate the weak genetic links. Thousands of mental patients and the mentally retarted were killed in Germany before the holocoust. This is history. Just look up Eugenics in the enclyclopedia.

as long as they aren't killing anyone, let them believe what they want to believe.
they're a bunch of wackos anyways.
