My life processes will stop and my body will become a bag of biochemical goo. Just like you, my dog, and the sad opossum that was hit by a car on my road yesterday.

I will be dead. So probably eaten by worms an other larvae. Eventually my body will completely decompose back into the earth. Then the fertile soil might be used for farming at some point in time. Eventually, some one will eat the crops that grow out of my decomposed body. Then, their body will use the food for fuel and what is leftover will be discarded by their waste. That waste might end up back in the soil and maybe the cycle will start over again. Bottomline the earth is composed of recycled materials and we are part of that cycle. Don't fool yourself, you are insignificant in the universe. What happened all those billions of years before you were born is the same as what will happen after your death. Enjoy your life because you are a mortal.

The same thing that will happen to all of us ---- Taoists, Buddhists, or whatever..... the heart finally stops, the cir. to the brain ends, consciousness ends, the bacteria that once digested my food, now begins to digest me. The molecules that I used from other things, now return to the cycle... We do not survive our death, hon. It just doesn't happen.... dead is indeed dead. So, use these lovely 80 or so years, making yourself happy, love someone worthy of you, go places do things, eat good food, drink good wine, smile, and leave the planet a bit better than you found it....

Nothing. Unless there is some kind of energy but I don't have any reason to think that it would be a lasting thing. I have had an experience with a ''visitation'' after my brother died. Before that I thought that after death was nothing. Now I am not sure. I do not need to believe in any kind of existance after death nor do I want to believe in such a thing. I just don't know for sure. However that does not make me believe in a loving god. I have no reason to think that there is any kind of god.

Not much. I don't need to believe that I am immortal. If I do have some sort of immortal spirit, that might be neat. But I don't really care either way. Just as I didn't care if I existed before I was born... nor will I care when I die.

Either I'll be cremated or buried "green" (no embalming, in a biodegradable coffin). The worms and plants will have their way with me for a while, then if conditions are right, I'll become a fossil. Or just plain old dust after awhile. The end.

Nothing.
It's a scary concept, isn't it?
It's much nicer to believe that we'll be clasped to the bosom of the lord and enjoy a happy eternity with all of our loved ones. Much nicer.
But dreams are usually much nicer than reality.
Sorry.

Nothing.

That's why you should care about what you do in life a bit more. You should live a good life and:
-If there is a god and he is a loving god, then he will look at the deeds you did in your life and accept you regardless.
-But if a god exists and he is not a loving god you wouldn't have had a chance of paradise anyway.
-If no god exists, your life was not in vain and you have made the world a better place for those who are alive.
