Toothpaste at the Dollar Store comes from countries where there is no flouride in the water which means the toothpaste has up to 10 times the amount U.S. manufactured toothpaste does. This has the potential to poison you if too much is swallowed. This is not a hoax. Check www.snopes.com

10 times the amount of fluoride as toothpaste manufactured in the US. And yes they are name brands but they were intended for other countries that don't have fluoride in the their water. Dollar Stores are selling it in the US.

That is very good information for people who swallow toothpaste, or buy toothpaste for their kids.
The dollar stores have name brand products, but they are there for a reason...they can't be sold in regular stores either due to defects (like you stated), or closeouts.
When health is a concern, always assume that the products are defective.

Its true somewhat, but toothpaste is only about a dollar at walmart, so I dont see the point in buying it at the dollar store if you really need it that bad. True that toothpaste from other countries could have more or less flouride, I doubt it would kill anymone, if it was that dangerous why would anyone make something like that, even if it was manufactured in a third world country. This post is just pointless.

ten times the amount of what?
Got it now," ....U.S. manufactured toothpaste HAS."
Ok, I buy from Odd Lots, Big Lots and Dollar. I still get brands with flouride in them.
Thanks for asking!

I don't think all of it does cause it's name brands like colgate and crest, but the generic ones aren't good. I use only colgate. It's a shame alot of the stuff from other countries isn't good quality like the pet foods where the wheat flour came from china. The US should really put the money into making more of our own products, that would create more jobs and more pride!

So, you mean off brands? I have never bought a no-name brand. The closest I came to a non advertised brand would be pepsodent or close-up, but never an off brand literally. Interesting info though.
