What makes you so sure you would recognize truth when you found it?
It might be staring you in the face and you would call it a lie.
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see (perceive) God"
Matthew 5:8

I was born into my faith. So one would assume that I would either A - naturally believe my religion as an undeniable source of knowledge, or B - feel too pressured into the religion and duly abandon it for falsehoods.

I chose option C. In my transfer between youthful naive acceptance and adult understanding of my faith, I decided to make sense of my religion -- not to blindly follow it, but to really dig deep into my perceptions and evaluate how much I actually believed what I'd been taught since birth.

I am now a moderate Catholic -- I adopt opinions that some other Catholics do not hold, like support for homosexual relationships, and am still trying to comprehend the truth behind difficult-to-grasp concepts, such as that the Eucharist at mass undergoes transubstantiation (becomes the actual body and blood of Christ).

I do not accept my religion lightly -- yet here I run into the stumbling block that perhaps there are some things in life which simply must be taken on faith. I haven't yet experienced such a situation, however, so how can I know?

The Truth is what I am in constant search of. This search empowers me to strengthen my spirituality and depth of self-scrutiny.

Very few really search for the truth. Even fewer find it. Most people are more comfortable in their cocoon of tradition.

This was foretold by the Messiah Himself:

Matthew 7:12 ¶ Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and MANY there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.

So, there are few, a very few, really searching for the truth.
So, why? Partly it has to do with a calling from God. John 6:44, Partly our attitudes: Jas 4:3

When I first became aware that the Biblical 7th Day Sabbath and the Biblical Holy Days were still binding on the Chruch, and, indeed the Sabbath is one of the signs of the True Church, I fought against it. I was raised Methodist and I studied and read and argued for almost 6 months........until God opened my eyes and finally I got His point.

One of the first things my wife and I learned ,and she found it, was;

Ps 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

It's companion verse sets the tone of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations:

Ec 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

In our search for the truth we rejected Sunday as a day of worship, Easter as the day of the ressurection, Christmas as the day of Christ's birth, Halloween as any kind of holiday at all....as we learned the truth about each of these days and the practices that took place on them, we were apalled by what we had just accepted, our traditions were false and un-Biblical.

One of the big problems I am finding on YA and in meeting people is that the constant message that there is no truth, the message of political correctnes, the requirement that our colleges teach, and students to take, courses in diversity of religion, of cultures, and of personal practices like homosexuality, have led to a society that is hardened to sin. In other words, they are not effected by the evil that they see around them becuase they have been taught by the powers that be that every thing is alright, everything goes, and they are not to judge.

This is making it extremely difficult for people to be motivated to search for truth. They are constantly bombarded with the theme that there is no truth, but instead there are many truths.

I do.It is a strange thing this search for Truth. You know just when you think you have figured out the truth; the story changes. I listen to my inner man and I seek the holy spirit that dwells within each of us as a teacher. The spirit realm is forever trying to get us to sit down, shut up and listen! But society bogs us down so finding time to listen, search and find has been robbed from us!

truth leaves a physical imprint on the earth so here's a few you can look up...

Julius Cesar died about 2000 yrs ago not Jesus...
the bible was introduced by the roman empire....
the roman empire became the Roman Catholic Church...
The religion was greatly enforced by murder and violence.
the romans have a history of world conquest... whether as an empire or a church...
it's only a sin if you disagree with the church... if you agree with the church they usually encourage murder, rape, molestation violence...
the second commandment is do not practice idolatry... which is the same thing as bowing and praying to statues.... so they could read but can't judge what they read obviously... cause the church's tradition if mostly bowing and praying to statues...
the terms good and evil come from the church funny how evil can get away with defining these things and never getting caught...
what is truly evil... check out the origins and behavior of this church.... and tell me if it's inspired by good or evil... there was a documentary not long ago on the inquistion... it should have enlightened people..

If by "truth" you are referring to spiritual truth, I heard it said once that everyone has a "God-sized" hole in their soul. Therefore, each one of us searches for that truth which fits that hole.

Even when faced with Jesus Christ, himself, Pontius Pilate asked... (John 18:37-38)

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?

Actively searching myself. No truth yet except what has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. It's not God, but I'm keeping my mind open to all possibilities.

I try to do that and I admit it is difficult to not be sucked in to the rituals mankind likes to weave around truth.
