it should work. If it does not it needs to be played in compatibility mode.

MANY will work, some might not. Win 98 is still based on DOS. XP is bilt on NT. XP has built in compatibility mode, but it is not perfect. Some people run 95/98 programs in a "virtual machine"

most win98 software will work in XP. Some of the software is still 16-bit based or has a 16 bit installer that could cause problems. in this case if you right click on the program executable there is a "compatibility mode" tab; and you basically used a drop down box to pick what version of windows you want to trick the game to think its running in......

yea i thinks its called backwards compatability usually but not always, an older game will run on a new system but newer games will not run on older systems......so yes it should work on XP

yes give it a try, the OS are always built up from previous versions (bad idea i believe) so compatibility would always remain.
