my 16 yr old sister is pregnant and now she thinks that her family wants nothing to do with her. we need help!

my family just found out that my 16 year old little sis is pregnant by her 15 yr old boyfriend. she started staying at a friends house last yr then started dating her brother. the mother of the boy has insisted that he was at an aunt house when she would spend the night with her friends. i know its stupid but my father actually believed her. since being told the big news, we have found out that this mother had these kids sleeping together, allows her son to smoke pot, and buys cigeretts for him. now it seems she has brain washed my sis. she doesnt want us to do anything for her, she is trying to illegally obtain her birth certificate so she can take her to the doctor. when i called her up to tell her i would take her, the lady got on the phone with me screaming "nobody is going to take my f****** grandkid. she has done this several times. we dont want to keep them out of my sisters life, but she just seems obsessed. how do we get her home and help her? we live in ga, what is the law.

great advice danielle! lol, just because shes pregnant doesnt mean shes an adult, and if you knew this kid, she might be 16 but acts 12. well good luck to you and your kids if this is how you perceive things.

i don't know what the law is in Georgia, but i do know your parents need to contact your sister and let her know how they feel....

if they want her home and care, they need to let her know, either by calling when they think the boyfriend's mother isn't home, or writing a letter.....

i'm sure this is a difficult situation. the boyfriend's mother sounds like trailer trash.

truth is, i think that the boyfriend's mother could be reported to social services for neglect, and other things... it's illegal to buy tobacco for a minor.. or let them smoke pot, or sleep with a girlfriend in their home ( SHE might even be guilty of statutory rape in letting those minor children have sex in her home)?

i hope everything works out. i know you love and care about your sister.. just let her know. hugz! !

I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this crisis - but I hope you can look at this as a storm that you are going through and there is sunshine on the other side. First, your parents need to obtain a family lawyer, Your sister is underage and her parents are the only ones who can insist on activating the law on their side. This woman does not sound rational or reasonable and it makes no sense that she would attempt to control your sister. Both of them are going to be the grandparents. Also, if you can prove that she has allowed the pot smoking and sleeping together, the courts will not look favorably upon her as a reasonable and responsible adult. Your parents have to be calm and prove they are the best custodial parent help. Your sister needs to be back home. The sad part is that your parents were duped into believing that your sister was at this home and the boyfriend was not there. Any responsible parent of a 15 year old - knowing how young people are - would be visiting with the parents of this young man and have some kind of relationship. It's really sad that parents don't get involved in their children's lives. At any rate - a family attorney would know how to direct you and present your case to the judge I wish you the best.

Your sister is 16, she is still a minor. Your parents will have to step in and get the law involved.
Do NOT give up on your sister, as she gets along in her pregnancy, hopefully she will come around and see just how much she needs her family.

be strict, normally its the mother that gets the kid go to court about it, its much easier, at least either u get the kid or not or they get put in prison =D dam life is grand at times like this

its too bad but I think you should turn her in as a run away. maybe she might go right back but that is the only way to get her home. she is not old enough to be a mom but she is old enough to be pregnant.

oh u got a big situation here...the mother of ur sisters bf is right it is her grandchild but she has to understand she needs bother ur family and her to help ur sister ....she might go through depression and may lose her baby tat way

Your sister is now pregnant.There is nothing really you can do.She is now considered an adult.And if she wanted her b/c so bad she could get herself.And she can go to the doctor herself.
