find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Pilates is great for toning up the body and getting it bikini ready! Also, if you don't want to spend the $ going to the gym, go to a book and music exchange type store, eBay, or amazon, and buy a variety of used workout DVD's. That's what I have done and this way I can exercise at home on my time without spending a lot of money and I am very happy with the results. I was kind of in the same boat as you, not wanting to loose weight, but just wanting to tone up my muscles.

try doing some excersize that will help whatev you want to work with.
for example, for your abs, DO SOME CRUNCHES!
for your muscles, LIFT SOME WEIGHTS!
you get the picture lol
you can also find some good excersizing in 17 magazines, because the have a whole health section, and some great excersizes.
good luck! :]

pilates is great. i have the mtv pilates mix with kristin mcgee. you can either do a 15 min. quick workout or choose your own combo from her menu. it keeps things from getting boring. you can get a pilates video at marshall's or tj maxx for cheap. I think dance is the best. If you're any sort of dancer (or not but like to) yoga-booty ballet is awesome. another note, if you don't want to spend any money at all and you want to use weights, full 2-liter bottles work pretty good.

I'm in the same boat. I do 8 min. abs, 8 min. buns, and 3 sets of 20 girlie push-ups. It works great to tone and you can do the routine anywhere.
