how do i disable this? i try to edit a character in a sentence, so i move my cursor to this place and click, when i type, it replaces whatever is in the next spot. aaahhhhhhhhhh, how do i disable this, I am using microsoft word on a PC. Thanks

It is the INSERT key on your keyboard...to the right of your DELETE button

maybe you have accidentally pressed the "insert" key. It activated the overwrite function of the software you are using.

hit the "insert key" on your keyboard. It will toggle between "replace" (overwrite) and "insert" (add in addition to)
