i was watchin this movie and when the guy got the drink he told the lady to flame it and she did. but i always wondered how do they drink those beverages. he had a straw where the flame was but wouldnt that straw melt? please answer.

You have to blow it out first otherwise you'll have fire going down your throat! Seriously, there's a video of someone doing it on youtube and her hurt himself really bad so be careful!

Generally, you blow out the flame before you drink it, and I have NEVER seen a straw in a flaming drink. Sounds like a movie thing.

yes you can drink it, obviously you wait for the alcohol to burn off or blow it out or yes the straw would melt.
FYI, most flaming drinks are slammed like a shot so no straw is involved. ie, a flaming dr pepper

I saw this online movie of some guy taking a flaming shot and he got it all over his face and it burned him so I don't think people really drink drinks that are on fire.

well if he drank it when it was still on fire it would of went down his throat and killed him...that was on a movie like you said so not 100% true, but you can light some drinks on fire, but you blow out the flame first, some people put fire in there 151, there are flaming dr peppers, absinthe also calls for fire into that....

Yes, you have to BLOW OUT THE FLAME, so that the drink is no longer flaming when it hits your mouth. the flame is just to get attention and it actually is burning off the alcohol that your trying to get drunk on so why would you do it in the firsst place? It's like burning your money when you smoke ciggies.

You drink it in one go. The flames are inlightend to the alcohol as that is the more flammable product. It does go straight to your head though.

the flames should only burn for a few seconds, so you wait until it goes out to drink it.

you blow the fire out first!! some shots you light on fire and drop in a glass of beer then drink!!!!! be careful and dont catch yourself on fire!!! lol!!
