The H/R rep at this company that I interviewed with kept saying that he would get back to me. I went on three Interviews and had to give them numerous references. He said that I was the final candidate and that he would get back to me last week.

They never got back to me until today by sending me an e-mail saying that Thanks, but no Thanks.

I had called them at least 10 times.

So, today I left messages with the H/R Rep, H/R Director and spoke to the Controller about how poorly the whole process was handled. I told them they should have at least got back to me with a status last Wednesda

The H/R Rep sent me an e-mail apologizing and I sent an e-mail thanking him and then expressing my opinion.

I wanted them to know how poorly I was treated. I was led to believe that I was the final candidate, took time off (unpaid) from my present job and then was told after all that my personality was not the right "fit" for the job.

They could have told me this earlier.

I really did not call 10 times, but once on twice on Thursday, once on Friday and yesterday to the H/R Rep, H/R Director and Controller.

This is valuable experience, you learn for the future, when they're serious or when they're pulling your chain. Companys make decisions that's best for them, not for you.

I had this experience: Went on first interview, didn't feel like they asked me much. Came back for 2nd, while in the waiting room a woman there said she was on her 4th interview. I completed the 2nd but didn't come back when they asked for a 3rd.

Another funny thing I saw at a company: Company hires 2 college kids during layoffs, hoping things will get better. The 2 kids take the job and turn down other offers. Things don't get better, the 2 get laid off 4 weeks later.

Yes, I think it was to some degree you felt that they had done you wrong, how else will the know that they did some thing unless they are told.

I don't know that I would have called them 10 times about the job, as that maybe a part of why they didn't hire you. Who wants to be bothered that many time, especially if they told you that they would let you know.

Look for another job and move on so that you can be happy, let it go now as there isn't much else that you can do.

Good luck, hope things work out well for you.

No, you weren't wrong. If they were just jerking your chain the whole time, you have every right to inform that that you didn't appreciate it. Big business has a reputation for being uncaring (and this is true in a lot of cases), but anyone who gets enough complaints will start paying attention and looking for solutions, so I'd say you did the right thing. It's not as though you flew off the handle either...it sounds as if you were professional about expressing yourself, which is more than they managed.

Look at the bright side: Imagine if you'd gone to WORK for these people.
