It sounds like allergies although it is always best to have a doctor check him out. Watering eyes, not sleeping and coughing are all symptoms of allergies - particularly if he doesn't have a fever.
I'm not sure how old your son is but you may want to consider an antihistamine to relieve his symptoms. Another thing to consider is asthma. In children, asthma symptoms are prominent at night when they are in bed (coughing and not sleeping well are two indicators.)
This is a very bad spring for pollen and anyone with even minor allergies is suffering. From what you're describing it sounds like allergies but do check with your peditrician. There are many prescription allergy medicines that will give him great relief.
Good luck! :)

Go to the doctor ~ sounds like he has allergies and if left untreated, could create serious problems and death depending on what they are. Make him as comfortable as you can and let the doctor advise you on this :)
When my allergies first started, I was in my 30s and my eyes watered constantly when I was outside and someone was cutting the grass ~ and my nose ran like a water faucet. I was allergic to grass and dust but didn't know it until they did tests on me a little later. What is odd is, I don't have those problems today but do have some food allergies.
Hope the doctor can help you and give your son some comfort :)

Sounds like you're new parents. Here's how to deal with it. Mom usually knows when her baby isn't quite right. Allergies can be just a dangerous as illness in babies and young children. Let her call the pediatrician and take him in. If it's nothing, she will learn how to recognize it and feel comforted by the doctor. If it's something that needs attention, you'll both feel better having taken care of it right away.

It could simply be allergies, it is the season! You could try giving him some pediatric OTC allergy medication to see if this gives him relief. This will especially be beneficial at his bedtime, it will enable him to sleep better.
Continue to monitor for a fever. If his condition doesn't seem to improve or it gets worse, definitely take him to the dr.

Call the pediatrician and ask him. Sounds like he could have a respiratory issue, infection or not, but why take a chance. Could you sleep if your nose was running down your throat, etc.?

Take him to the doctor and let them tell you if anything is wrong. At the very least, they may be able to give you something to make him more comfortable.
