We bother because we care. As long as you are alive you can be saved. You're not damned until you die in your sins, unrepentent and unforgiven. The unpardonable sin against the Holy Spirit is to hear and know of the truth and still chose another way and die with that decision. You're looking for a verse that's right in front of you. It's common sense that as long as you are alive you're not a lost cause. You obviously know some scripture but apparently became an agnostic (there are no true atheists). Say you die today knowing what some Christians told you about Jesus and salvation but still deciding to deny Him and His gift of salvation. You have in essence taken God's hand of forgiveness and slapped it away. In death your choice is final. You've said that God's love and peace could take a flying leap and that you know more than the God of the universe and creator of you. Now do you expect God to take you to Heaven against your will after making that choice. NO. Because He's just and respectful of your decision and, despite how much it pains Him, you get your wish and face a not so nice place AWAY FROM HIM. That is the reason Christians are trying to 'save' you. We've come to know and believe God and accept Him and we don't want to see others make a bad choice that has eternal consequences. Here and now is the time of decision and nobody is a true lost cause until they die. God loves you and is reaching out to you through the Bible, Christians, and by speaking to your heart. He says that He doesn't want any should perish but have everlasting life. He cared enough to send Jesus to serve as the true door of eternal life by which we can enter. All He asks is that we believe and accept His gift of salvation. To hear and decide no is to be forever damned. You don't get another chance beyond this life. Choose wisely.

Most of us were atheists before we were saved. I think blaspheming the Holy Spirit means rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of your life. There may be a point of no return though. The fact that you asked the question is a good sign that there's still hope for you. You wouldn't care at all if you had completely rejected the Lord. 1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I'll pray for you.

Participation in activities that both of you like is a start, I suppose. Work on the basic love you have for one another. You know your sister wouldn't leave you in a pinch, and you wouldn't leave her in one either. It is sad to see so many people no longer put God first in their lives, but if a person does not practice what they preach, they will lose what they don't use. Muscles atrophy when people don't use them. It is the same with religious and sacred practices. From a religious perspective, the evil one is trying very hard to get as many souls on his side because he knows that his time here is short. For those who do not acknowledge the spiritual, this seems ludicrous.

Your fate isn't sealed until you are dead. Until then, the Holy Spirit will constantly try to reach you. However, the unforgiveable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit; that is, you have shut yourself off to the pleadings of the Holy Spirit for so long that you no longer hear them. It would be like setting an alarm clock for a deaf person. If you keep pushing God away, eventually you will no longer hear Him and you will be lost. This saddens God very much, because He wants to save you.

You are not a lost cause, I have noticed that many scriptures are misinterpreted by atheists because they do not possess the Holy Spirit to guide them. My understanding of this particular scripture is that you must already be saved in order to commit this sin. As an atheist it would be impossible because you cannot disobey the Holy Spirit if He is not a part of you. The danger for an atheist (according to my beliefs based on Scripture) is that of denying the call of God. God does not harden your heart, but rejecting Him will begin to harden your heart. There may come a time in an atheist's life when he/she may choose to answer but cannot move the heart to do so because they rejected Him too many times. God wants everyone to be saved, you are not a lost cause.

if you're an atheist, i seriously doubt that you have blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
you'd have to have been saved at one time.... been the deepest and most devout, the most faithful, the most..... you would have to have been like Noah, Moses, Abraham, Paul... like the really big faith believers...
and then turned and spit on God and His Son, spoke revilingly about the blood of Jesus and seriously grieve the Holy Spirit.
you can do all of those while your unsaved and it does nothing.
even if you decide to get saved just to be able to blaspheme God... it probably still wouldnt work because God knows what you'd be up to.
face it. you cant. its impossible.
the only way you could be "forever damned" is if you never accept Jesus.
now if that's what you want. just stay on course.

I don't think it is possible for an Atheist to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. I think you would have to believe in something first, before you could do it.

No you aren't damned eternally YET!
You CAN be SAVED.
You Have Not Blown-it yet.
As long as you haven't Accepted Jesus as your Saviour, you are still blaspheming the Holy Spirit.
As soon as you get Saved, all that is behind you, like it was for me!
Go ahead, get Saved! You'll never in a Million Years (and then some) regret it.
Ditto...............

It's just that you are fooling yourself into thinking that you committed the unpardonable sin. The Atheist Challenge is a farce, not that they ever could understand scripture! lol
They always sucked at it! ROTFLMAO
