You might be quick on calcium and magnesium. Drink more milk. The historic remedy of a tumbler of heat milk earlier than bed has it's advantages. When you've got a leg cramp, no matter how extreme, you must curl your foot again toward you. In that role, the muscle tissues will loosen up faster. It is going to harm at first, however ease up quicker. I learn that in an article in the Wisc. State Journal and it really works.

It went into spasms.
If you did not warm up to loosen the muscles of the part of your anatomy, It did not quite know what to do. Maybe you had been using it to run and it had a lot of lactic acid, needed oxygen, and then you , out of the blue decided to flex it. Well, your leg simply said"what the heck are you doing to me and curled in a ball"
Cramps. Ouch. Knead it gently, sit down and rest. Get some blood into it.
